Darnell Savage to test free agency

Hasn't been good as a pro. Julian Love is 25 years old and coming off of his first Pro Bowl season and is on a very team friendly deal. Draft and develop unless similar opportunities for great bargains present themselves. I don't think that Savage is that.

    Jackson Powers-Johnson

I like him a lot, hopefully he's considerably better at snapping the football than Creed Humphrey though. Creed has been sending Mahomes ground balls when not under center. I do think I would prefer Fautanu, Barton, or Fuaga if going oline though because of their interior line/offensive tackle...

    Cut him some slack

Nah. He should hold them and himself to a very, very high standard. No slack. This was a 9 win team that underachieved and probably should have been a 12-13 win team.

    Trade DK?

I disagree. He is young, an elite talent, and only going to get better as he gets more seasoning, more mature, and improved coaching. You trade a guy like DK for lotto picks, you just end up hoping that you can get someone that good with the compensation (unlikely). Learn from the Titans/AJ...

    Should Macdonald follow Chiefs blueprint?

You can't try to emulate their blueprint. They have a HOF Head Coach and a top 2 all-time QB. That isn't attainable. It masks everything else. What is attainable is the 13-14 Hawks. Play great defense, get nasty, hope to find and develop a top 10 QB on the cheap.

Did Macdonald take a veiled shot at last seasons defense?

Yeah, he's not necessarily stone cold; but there's a certain assassins' like precision to him. But then you throw in the "soft skills" that he likely picked up while doing his Masters in Business Management. Juxtaposed with Pete, who might be my favourite sports personality/leader of all-time...

Did Macdonald take a veiled shot at last seasons defense?

If he did, it was deserved. But I don't think so. The man seems so measured and intentional with everything he says. I got a Navy Seal / Wall Street executive vibe off of him.

Fades Take on Seahawks Culture with this Hire

This is the only point I would take issue with. I'm not sure that there are many coaches out there who would, after trading their franchise QB, take a Geno Smith QB'd team to back to back winning seasons; or beat the defending Super Bowl champs in the playoffs with that atrocious roster that...

    Who Will Be The Coordinators?

Is he not free to look for work elsewhere given that the Commanders don't have a Head Coach? Or is he contracted to whoever their new HC is?

    Johnson Off the Table

Was he offered? I don't see that reported anywhere, just that he has had interviews.

    Johnson Off the Table

Well, he interviewed with Seattle; and then this news came out. So you could very well be right. Feels like agent spin after interviewing poorly and finding out he wasn't getting the job. If you don't want Seattle or Washington you're not taking those interviews.

How Many Super Bowls Have You Watched Live?

My earliest memory Super Bowl was watching Rams vs Titans. Watched all the others live on TV, aside from Hawks-Broncos in person.

    MacDonald vs Johnson decision time

My #1 is Evero. Close 2 is Quinn. But I'd definitely be excited too see what MacDonald or Johnson have in store.

Another domino: Raheem Morris to the Falcons

"they didn't get it because of us" is inconsequential.

Another domino: Raheem Morris to the Falcons

The team hiring the minority HC doesn't give them the compensation.

Another domino: Raheem Morris to the Falcons

Morris is a good coach, and I believe his first HC gig was at age 32; so I wouldn't put it past him to do a good job with this opportunity. That said, I am increasingly curious as to what John is going to do. Right now it feels like he has done a pretty good job of holding his water, as...

    First Pick 2024 Draft

Jayden Daniels if he falls. Dejean could add a versatile piece to the secondary. And when in doubt - go trenches. There should be good guys on both sides of the ball. DLs Newton and Murphy. OLs Latham, Fautanu, Fuaga, Mims, Barton, Guyton, Morgan, Powers-Johnson could be a big riser. A number...

    A thought about " Culture "

A culture of winning. Sure, you're not going to win every year, as it is a tough league; but I truly feel that some organizations have winner dna, where more often than not they are in the playoffs and have a winning record, and occasionally they'll break through and win the big one. Steelers...

What do you base your opinion of JS on?

My opinion on John Schneider is based upon being the GM for Seattle's only Super Bowl champion, winning the NFC twice, and in a cap league designed for parity has a .606 winning percentage and makes the playoffs more frequently than not. Probably one of the top 4-5 operations in the league...

    Pete to LA Chargers?

I do get the appeal from both sides, it it were to happen. Just because Pete got stale here doesn't mean he isn't an excellent NFL Head Coach. Even approaching his mid-70s he's a great candidate for any organization looking for a culture change and to inject some winner dna into loser...
