    Organization is cheap

They have extensions coming up on a cornerstone CB and the leagues WR1, and they've got a staff that makes stars out of young guys. We can't extend an entire roster to large contracts. Extend stalwarts, cornerstones, and select role players and next-man-up the rest. It's THE way.

Geno Smith done in Vegas after one season

Yeah, not much of a point here. I love him as a player but I wish he'd take stuff like this a lil more lightly. Just a moody guy. Probably a bit bitter. Wish it had worked out for him at some point.

Geno Smith done in Vegas after one season

He's a pretty moody guy for a QB. That said, he mostly seems like a great teammate since his Jets days. I think he's overly-competitive and gets pissed too easily, and he's the type to stew instead of scream. I still remember him being incredibly supportive of Lock when he started against the...

Geno Smith done in Vegas after one season

He's the Rorschach test of quarterbacks. He has enough natural talent and fundamental prowess for film-based viewers to see a potentially great quarterback being held back by bad situations. He also does enough dumb stuff while pressing to make something work in said situations for most people...

Geno Smith done in Vegas after one season

That'd be an awkward time to have my only non-Russ jersey be a throwback Geno from when they went on clearance. *sigh* Time to go shopping for another Fanatics piece of crap. At that point, I might just stick with legit vintage jerseys bought off Ebay or something.

    Rams acquiring Trent McDuffie

I like the trade for the Rams. They keep that roster talented via coaching and developing fringe players into good role starters. It makes sense to trade for premium talents at spots of need when you can keep the roster at playoff contention caliber with cheap, renewable talent. That's what...

    Why Doesn’t It “Feel Real?”

Still can't believe it myself. It's all about the coaching in the modern NFL (obviously not ALL, but more about coaching than it used to be). You get a staff that's bright, has a schematic edge, and work together well on offense and defense and you'll always have a chance. All these players...

    Why Doesn’t It “Feel Real?”

SB48 had a long lead-up. The team was absolutely dominant and obviously ascendant in 2012. We had a stable few years of something big building on defense leading to 2012 when it started coming together in a huge fashion. We had a whole off-season after 2012 knowing we were the best team in the...

    Re-evaluating Sam's Super Bowl

He had a few inaccurate throws and decisions that could've gone real bad. With that said, he was under more pressure than usual and didn't give the game away, and he made some crucial plays as the game went on. It was an adequate performance under the brightest lights possible for an NFL...

Seahawks Ownership Simulation - You're the new owner

My first move as owner would be to have a press conference stating clearly that the team is staying in Seattle, I am committed to investing whatever I need to invest to provide state of the art facilities and care to my staff and team, and that football people will be making the football...

Seahawks are officially up for sale

I'd hope no one actually thinks this about the cap not applying at all, but there ARE some cash poor owners that have or have had some trouble with ponying up large bonuses for marquee free agents that require guarantees and a significant percentage of the contact paid up front. The...

Seahawks are officially up for sale

Sure, but the point is that they're all rich and they all got rich by being some level of neurotic control freak. It's not going to be especially reliable to apply someone's approach to their professional life that made them filthy rich to how they'll approach running a football team. What I...

Seahawks are officially up for sale

Bezos ran Amazon at a loss for a good while with the sole purpose of establishing them as a dominant force. I see this is a pretty ideal mindset for the owner of a football team to have. Regardless, though, they've already made their wealth. These are rich dudes. If they're in the market to...

Seahawks are officially up for sale

We'll be aight. Bezos or Ballmer, either would command respect in the owners meetings and invest what they need to. Team's definitely staying.

Seahawks hiring Brian Fleury as OC

I am generally a fan of the hire. Fleury is one of those guys who clearly has a great mind for the game. Shanahan plucked him out of defensive coaching and made him part of the offensive staff. This, despite being an outside hire, is probably MORE of a continuity hire than Peetz or Outten...

    Sam hate here is astounding

I don't see how this is hate. It's just calling whats been fairly apparent. It's not like he's losing us the game, I dont see anyone saying that. Just that there have been some big misses.

    Sam's got the yips

Yeah he's faltering. Wasn't ready for this

    Sam's got the yips

They're showing all out blitz there, and he's actually been pretty great throwing off platform for most of the year. He's just off tonight. It's not a disaster and he ain't gonna lose us the game, but he's missed a few that he's been otherwise making this season.
