    Pratice Squad Roster announced

I would have liked to get some higher upside guys on there, but the Hawks were thoroughly picked over by the league. I like that Helfet, Smith, and Shead made it.

    Chris Harper signed by 49ers!!!

Good move by the Niners. Talented guy. A legitimate mid-round player for nothing. I'm not a fan of the Hawks keeping two average RBs over him. The Wares and Colemans of football can be found anywhere at any time. Making roster room for them was getting too cute, IMO. Both won't last on the...

    Harper on PS

Very happy about this. Big, physical, talented guy that's raw. Seems like the practice squad will give him a chance to develop.

Random Thoughts™ on Huskies vs. Boise St.

I'll give a shout out to Shamburger at safety. He's a senior but he's clearly taken a step forward this year. I think you're starting to see improved defensive coaching helping players develop. Also...man's game. There's some size and strength we haven't had in the past. Good to see Hau'oli...

    Chris Harper CUT!!

Hope he makes it to the PS. Kearse has really been an amazing story.

Derrick Coleman has made the 53 man roster

Good story, great special teamer. Still not sure about the move.

    Mike Rob Cut?!!!

Coaches have this planned out. I'm kind of hoping they phase the FB out completely. Say what you want, Robinson punished defenders as a lead blocker. No one else is close to that level, so drop Coleman - an average player on his best day - and keep another versatile back like Ware. I'd rather...

    Mike Rob Cut?!!!

You've been doing a lot of judge, jury, executioner on fan responses and reactions. I'm a little embarrassed for all those Pats fans that have to come here and be subjected to it.

    Mike Rob Cut?!!!

A lot of arguments can be made one way or the other, but there isn't a lead blocker on the squad that does it as well as Robinson. So I have to expect that the iso 2 back sets are on the way out. It's going to be a new look offense this year.

Random Thoughts™ on the Raiders preseason game

I like this. Put him in the best possible situations to use his skillset. Get him into space. I do think getting some limited reps behind the number one offensive line will speed his development and understanding. I'm really happy TE Willson has continued his improvement. Having him as a viable...

    The Chris Harper dilemma

I'm high on him, but no denying he had a bad game. Coaches are going to evaluate him for his body of work, not just a couple of drops, but with Williams and especially Kearse the WR depth is better than it has been in ages. I'm still not sure he makes it to the practice squad if that's the route...

    Throwback Uniforms?

I grew up watching the Hawks in these unis. Just from a nostalgia perspective I'd love to see it at least one time.

Nfl reaches settlement with former players

I'm glad this is over. Maybe now Goodell can ease up on his mad dash to turn football into something it isn't. I'm hoping, but not believing.

    The Chris Harper dilemma

I definitely get that line of thinking, but look at Golden Tate. Can you imagine moving on from him in his first or second year because he wasn't putting it together on gameday? Now, to be fair to Tate, all you ever heard from practice was that he was ripping it up and making spectacular...

Seahawks 'All 3rd string' Team AKA Jacksonville Jaguars

Blackmon is a good pickup for the Jags. He didn't have a role here, but a corner with good size and returner ability is a smart addition.

    The Chris Harper dilemma

WRs take time to develop, and Harper was raw coming out. That was no secret to the Seahawks when they drafted him. I know everyone wants everything right now, but I'm betting Harper is stashed on the 53 somehow, at least until Harvin comes back.

Random Thoughts™ on the Packers preseason game

I think when we're talking about 'upside' we're really referring to his physical ability. It might not even be that much of a compliment because tons of guys never reach their potential, or become the players they could have been. It shouldn't cover up poor play. When Cable went down to visit...

Random Thoughts™ on the Packers preseason game

10 10 10 That's how many points the Chargers, Broncos, and Packers have scored against us. And I'd say they all have pretty good QBs. Offenses throughout the NFL are trying to find their rhythm, so take solace that this isn't a unique Seattle problem. 15 10 Just for fun those are 'Frisco's...

Tony McDaniel has it in the bag

He is so important for this team's future. Completely changes the outlook of the dline with him healthy and out there. Plus it allows the Hawks to use Hill and the rest as dynamic role players.

I don't like Kearse to return kicks.

Doesn't Kearse have just the one return? We need to see him there more before anyone can really decide. I'd like the top 2 for the job split reps the rest of the preseason. It's a good thing having the 5th or 6th WR taking the kick returns. That Kearse has at least shown he has the speed to...
