My expectations are very low. He just hasn't shown that he has the potential to be an NFL starting QB.

I have to admit I'm in the "why are there multiple threads about our third string QB?" camp. I think we should have a third string developmental QB on the roster. I think that's smart. I don't expect that developmental QB to do anything other than indicate that he has talent to develop. I have zero investment in whether it is Milroe or someone else.
TLDR: I only think about Milroe when there's another thread asking our opinion about Milroe.

I would love it if Milroe caused a QB controversy, but from what I've heard at camp, it doesn't look like it.
I stick to my opinion that he would be a hell of a punt or kick returner. Has the speed and is pretty elusive.

Where is the Super Bowl MVP or Preseason MVP? Both of those are my choices for Milroe's preseason performance
I didn't know they have preseason. The last time I saw one of those games was when Pete was coaching in the beginning of his stretch.

Milroe was one of two draft picks from last year that everyone was absolutely stoked about (the other beyond Arroyo) but I've just kinda been standing around going meh. What does everyone see with this guy? It just feels like everyone wants to justify the high pick. I think we've got two busts on our hands there. It's premature to say so and they can turn things around, but I'm just not seeing anything right now.
Of course, it's great to be able to stand in the shadow of a second Lombardi and say that...

I liked, and still like Arroyo. It was Milroe and Emmanwori I thought were dumb picks. I guess one of two isn't bad, although we still have to see how Emmanwori responds in Year 2. We all thought Woolen was a future perennial All-Pro after his rookie year too.

But there is a QB controversy surrounding Milroe. Just ask anyone on dot net what their opinion on Milroe is. Just enough QB controversy for my liking.
I’m excited to see what he can do in preseason as well as how the coaching staff might be thinking about expanding his role. He’s the backup to the backup. I’m also excited to see what all the backups can do. It’s kind of what preseason is for.
He’s no different than any other 3rd stringer at any other team position. If he works out, great. If he garners a potential pick in trade, great. If he ends up being cut one day, meh.

I see no to little reason to give up on Milroe, like him or not. It's year of a highly developmental QB with great upside. He's not our starter. I am fine with him developing for 2 more years before a contract season. Some guys are late bloomers and if the coaches who are around him 24/7 see development and improvement I'll trust them. I hope the development translates into the preseason but we will see. Put him on the 53 man roster again so he doesn't get poached if the coaches like him enough. The 53 isn't as hamstrung as it used to be with practice squad and ready squad being able to be called up for any game. I just want him to go out there loose and just play the game. See what he's got. Besides, he's been on our roster for 1 season and we have 1 Super Bowl win in that season. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Well it's on the QB coach to work him into shape, a player in any other position takes a year or maybe two to come into his own in the NFL, people here are asking Milroe to be a NFL starter in one year, he was a project in college that showed high potential but had flaws, he just went from High School to MIT as far as his learning curve.

Thus far, I saw more potential in Seneca Wallace at this point than I have seen in Jalen Milroe.
I am in utter wait and see mode with him. Sure, he shows flashes of great speed and elusiveness but I haven't seen much else that would suggest he's our Franchise QB in the making. I'd rather ride Sam's Era for as long as possible. Either trade Milroe or work him in as a returner or something?
