they drafted a QB
+
Ty will be somewhat seasoned and can go on from there

When stafford retires next or year after, , all without having to draft a QB in next years draft.
There's a BIG "IF" associated with their drafted QB. No doubt was the head scratcher of this draft and rumor was McVay wasn't sold. I'd like to see him play a season before providing a POV on that draft pick/

resigned Stafford for another year
with a body that's a year older. He was able to stay healthy this year, but age catches up at some point and his window is extended compared to most players his age. Kudos to Stafford...I admire him, think he's got elite skills, and wouldn't argue when he gets his jacket. But he's gettin' up there.

now have arguably the best defense in the league
On paper, yes...one of the top 2. But we hold the top spot and didn't lose anyone of concern in the offseason.

, and a great offense...
Agree...and we'll see if Puka weather's his storm or takes a mental hit. Adams getting older too. AND, JS addressed our biggest weakness defending the Rams in the draft. Not saying it's fixed, but the potential is strong.

You might be right and this is the move that gets them the trophy in their home stadium...but the variables are more than 1 player and not all kittens and rainbows for the lambs.

Take a snapshot. This is a huge moment! LOL

But in all seriousness, Father Time is an opponent that is undefeated, Gem.

Donald could still be effective if he came back but he'll still be 35, not 30 or younger.

5 years on the other side of 30, and two years after retirement from actively playing, is not an ideal situation where a player decides to come back and magically picks up where he left off in his career.

I just don't see it. (and don't bring up Philip Rivers, please. lol )

I guess I'm going to be alone on an island on this in having far more confidence in this team handling him (and Garrett) than anyone else.

I'm used to it, though.

I was alone on an island for a long time when it came to Darnold so this position isn't new to me. 🤷‍♂️

No, I generally agree. At best, he'd be a rotational "nice to have" piece, not the DPOY that's attached to his name. And he's said in his texts on the issue that he'll have to see if he "can find that fire". I.e., it's one thing to workout in the gym. It's an entirely different thing to get yourself in football shape at 35. He hasn't been training like that post-retirement.

Can't wait to read/hear about the collective disappointment by Rams fans when AD decides "Nah. I'm good" when all is said and done. 😂

I doubt Aaron Donald unretires or even considers it. He will just take snaps away from Turner and Fiske and those two do fine against us to be honest.

This whole thing kind of reminds me of the Philly 'dream team' offseason. The offseason where they signed Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominic Rodgers Cromartie, Vince Young, Steve smith and Ronnie Brown and then went 8-8

That's a great point. We've had our own past mini dream offseason's that culminated in continued mediocrity.

The assertions that the lambs now reign supreme are just speculative. You have to play the games to establish truth.

I won’t be disappointed as I do not expect him to un retire.
Well I know you're one of the more level-headed Rams fans here but I'm referring to those out there who are expecting Donald to just come out of retirement and continue on as if he never left.

Good perspective on Garrett's sack stats. Just three teams helped him rack them up. In 14 other games, just meh. Yes, Cross can handle Garrett.

Based on the tweet, Garrett is NOT Great, just very good.

I was not aware that he got most of his sacks from 3 QBs in 3 games.

11 sacks in 14 other games (against other teams QBs)?

He's still very good.

I knew I should have edited "meh" to something else or explained the sack performance in his other 14 games better, but yes, of course Garrett is still very good. Similar to many players on Seahawks' D -- respectable while not stellar sack count, but still very good with all the other neat tricks they can do on the field.
