What will it take to get Verse?

Verse is one of the best young edge rushers in football. I’m not alone here in wanting him to be a Hawk. I think we might be able to get him for a first and Uchenna Nwosu, and I expect John has already been exploring the options. Make it happen.

Powerhouses of the NFL: Seahawks and Rams. And if Seahawks actually do acquire Verse, these teams are even more powerhouses. If people bet on NFL game viewership size, considering the top-tier talent both teams have, combined with the "interesting" games they had against each other last season, the two Seahawks/Rams regular season games this coming season breaking certain viewership records would be a pretty safe bet.

Verse is completely off the table except for an extreme draft capital overpay. He's reportedly the player the Browns demanded to make the deal happen. The Rams wanted to keep Verse and give up more picks.

I don't know why people think this is realistic. The Browns didn't trade Garrett just to trade him and accumulate draft assets. They were apparently going to stand firm on not trading him until Verse was offered. He's a rebuild centerpiece, not someone you look to flip.

He's already a young, great player on a cheap deal. If they used a first rounder and that player turned out to be as good as Verse, it'd be considered a huge success. If you want him, you need to be prepared to give decently more than that. Nwosu and a late first round pick would get you laughed off the phone.

I doubt many think it's realistic. But still worth talking about the possibility. Anything is possible. I highly doubt it happens, but I would love it. Nothing wrong with dreaming.

Verse is not getting traded. Fun discussion but not happening. It would take Derrick Hall, a 1st and a 3rd most likely. The Browns considered Verse as a mid 1st and mid 2nd as part of the deal. So if you look at the trade chart you will have to give up equivalent to that. The Browns wanted Byron Murphy or Devon Witherspoon as it's been reported and the Seahawks were unwilling to part with players. They were fine with picks but not young talent as well. Not happening.

Smart GMing not giving up a core/young player. Unlike those idgits down South. Can't wait for them to be duking it out with SF and AZ for the next 4-5 years in the backseat.

This team is fine without Verse. Would it be nice, yup. But, as they say We all we Got WE all we need! I do not care.

nobody is taking Derek Hall. The whole thread is batshit, BUT nobody is taking Derek Hall in his last year. A team will have to resign him to an insane amount of money for 2 sacks. Why on earth would the Browns want him?

Also, the 'reported' they wanted Spoon or Murphy was by Dan Viens, just stop

His source that works for the organization is who said it.

I know nobody wants Derrick Hall, you must have missed EVERYTHING else I said?

Trading Bustron would have been an easy decision. I assume the Browns wanted way more than that though.

What we would rather need is the best Left tackle in the league.

Yup. Hypothetically, if the Rams had decided to make Verse available for trade before the draft, what do you think the asking price would have been? I'm guessing 2 first rounders. Verse was the key to the whole thing.
