His BA isn't pretty, but the rest of his numbers are solid to good. His on base, slug, and OPS are quite a bit better than Naylor and Young, and as is always the case with JP, his on base % is one of the best on the team. I also think it's worth noting that he's 3rd on the team in HR's so far, behind only Julio and Raley.

People need to learn to look a little deeper than just batting average, imo.
Especially in this case. I didn't even realize his BA was at .199 recently because he seems to be more clutch & his hits are just overall better.

I would like to officially nominate "not trying to do too much" (or "trying to do too much") as the most overused cliche in sports.

Woo with 9 K's, Zero runs & less than 80 pitches thru 6. If only Logan Gilbert could replicate this.

Probably the most important one, though. ;)

Looky that, won the series against one of the hottest teams in baseball over the last two weeks.

Hoppe gave away the shutout by playing poor baseball in the 9th. I hope he doesn't have that brain fart again when it might matter more. Wild pitch, the pitcher has to cover home plate. 🤷‍♂️

4 solo homers and a sac fly. I'll take it. Raley, Canzone, Emerson, and Julio. Young with the sac fly.

5 game win streak and two consecutive series wins.

Woo being Woo with 7 shutout innings. 9 Ks, no BBs. Best fastball hitting team in the league? Not against Woo.

Let's keep it up!

You know things are going well when Cal being out has been an afterthought during this run, at least for me. Credit where credit is due…it could have easily gone the opposite direction after Castillo’s meltdown as well and It hasn’t. Keep it going fellas!

Could be, but I could do without Healey praising literally every single guy that gets a base hit for "not trying to do too much". We get it buddy. You don't need to parrot the same cliche every time someone hits the baseball.
