Has anyone heard if Paul Allen identified anything more than "philanthropy" for proceeds? I guess Jody decides on specifics but I'm wondering if there were any guidelines...that anyone knows of. 10B to charity could be a big deal....

I have a feeling that whomever is selected, some here will hate the new owner.

That's a guarantee.
There are thousands of posters here and hundreds of active ones. Would sure be weird if everyone liked it. Not like Schneider or Mac are the researching and hiring the new owners, so I don't see why it would need to be yet another loyalty test to prove who the "real" fans are.

I just hope it doesn't mess up what the team is doing .

Apparently the market was robust in terms of bidders. I'm sure Jody wouldn't sell it to Clay Bennett but I ain't worried

Diversity of viewpoints is a good thing, right?

Yes but I'm merely pointing out the obvious.

And also I just want this search to be over and to have a new owner so we can move forward.

Does Jody have the right to pick owners or does the league dictate through the bidding process. I’m sure Jody won’t allow someone she believes would be terrible for the organization.

I had heard that she was legally required to take the highest bid, but the "requirements" seem to be conjecture at this point, like this alleged no moving the team clause.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the Nordstrom family was required to sell to Ken Behring, just because he was the highest bidder. There were approximately 30 prospective bidders, and they selected him. The Nordstroms were adamant in saying that they got the right guy, which wound up being the most infamous soundbite in franchise history.
