Rams got an A+ draft from me. They drafted exactly how I would’ve wanted them to draft. Maybe JS couldn’t trade down like he wanted because he was too busy picking for the Rams as well

Yup
the rest of the west had some way more questionable draft process than we had by quite a longshot so I'm good
FTN FTR and the cards are still the cards

I know from our experience drafts that are presumed bad end up being awesome. That's the only thing stopping me from enjoying the grades the Rams and Niners are getting.

We’ve also had drafts called bad, that actually turn out bad. And a draft like last year, called good that is good.

I shudder to think how good the 49ers could be if Lynch drafts similar to Schneider.

So the article is based on what the players draft position is compared to consensus and then goes on to claim most of the players were busts... The only draft of the 4 that so far can be claimed to be "poor" is 2023, and this is a draft where the first pick was in the 3rd round.

The jury is still out on the other 3 drafts. 2024 draft has 4 starters, 2025 draft had 5 starters. 2026 is obviously just brand new

The best players coming to the 49ers this year are a former DPOY, All pro LB, and 1st round DE that missed all last year

Also Schneider had many drafts in between the last superbowl and the most recent superbowl that were less than stellar. The draft can be pretty much a crap shoot at times

SB CHAMPS
Twice actually. Built on several years of spectacular drafts with lot of mediocre ones in between. That's kind of my point. Even the best GMs can have poor drafts. There is a lot more than drafting that defines success as well. Free agency, trades etc

Every GM has a bad draft from time to time. Dude put together two separate rosters that won a SB. That's pretty damn impressive. He also hired Mike.

94, do think this is Lynch's last year as GM if things continue to go south. I mean this with all due respect.

Only if they had a 4-13 type season . They were 12-5 last year and a lot of this was because of bringing in Mac Jones as a back up, FA wide receivers, a new FA kicker and because of play of rookies on defense. A lot of that is coaching , but a lot of it is having the right players.

But yeah if there was a terrible season, I think ownership might make a change because it has been status quo for so long. And I don't think Shanahan would be going anywhere
