People don't remember how exciting Zorn was before the injury, he was Russell before Russell, compared to Tarkenton and Staubach at the time, Mr. Escape a Bility, remember not great lines in those days, finding Sam and Steve somehow. The trick plays, yes we lost more then we won, but we had a Local Star in Largent and Zorn, we had a fricken NFL franchise and hero's right away. As a kid just at the end of being in High School it was a wish come true.

Hass, what can you say, I would call him Mr. Seahawk for all the above mentions. As a fan you have to be invested in your team, Jim and Matt both sold me on being all in due to them laying it all out on the field and being accessible to all of us, they were great teammates and community ambassadors.

Loved Dave Krieg's Moxie and yes he was close to Marino for Yards passing record, he had a great but relatively quiet career, especially being in a Knox offense, but remember he was with the Chiefs and Lions as well and was in the playoffs with both teams if my memory is correct, definitely with the Lions taking over for Woodley.

So it's a split as a kid Zorn and as an Adult Hass.

I want to see that confident, baller swagger from Sam. I know that's probably unrealistic--it's just not in his "makeup". But I honestly hate feeling those "game on the line jitters" with Sam. It's probably unfair, considering he just won the Super Bowl and what he did in the playoffs. But that feeling in the back of my mind that he's going to make a mistake.........

Apologies OP, don't want this to turn into a Sam Darnold thread or anything.
Yeah! That Phillip Rivers "Lord of no rings " swagger.

You took the words right out of my keyboard fingers.
For all those reasons he's also who I'd like most to see come back to the Hawks in either an Executive or Coaching capacity. I don't think it'll happen considering he relocated back to Massachusetts, he's a family man with kids in sports and he has a good gig with the sports networks, which he's exceedingly good at. But, a Seahawks fan can wish..

No question that Russell Wilson accomplished the most and made some of the most magical (and regrettable) plays in league history but I grew up on Dave Krieg and Ground Chuck.

I was maybe twelve when Krieg beat out Zorn for the starting job. Great leader and passer from a now defunct college no one heard of. His long career speaks for itself.
