I'm not sure folks fully appreciate Rashid's overall impact on the team. His field stretching changes how defenses have to play the Hawks ... which makes the running game work. He's not just a great returner or solid receiver. He's a critical part of the team's desired offensive identity. The three components together = the bag of cash he just received.

Yes, but we weren't really using him as a positional player. All I can figure is that we plan on using him as other than a return specialist.

This seems unlike JS. Could it be partly because we just lost two big names, and Rasheed is very popular?i.e-we STILL don't plan to target him much?
your overcomplicating it and looking .. err making reasons why you dont like it.

Sorry to give the wrong impression - I'm just surprised, and humbly asked for clarification from those who might understand the decision better than I do.

To quote myself, earlier in this thread: "(I'm very happy, regardless)."

While I like it, this does seem to be a steep price. But all I can say is the offense changed when he was traded for. He made an impact, one less position we have to worry about. Now go get Quay Walker or Lloyd

Now that I've coughed the coffee out of my lungs after first seeing the contract numbers, I'm actually pretty ok with it. We had a need at #2 WR plus we wanted to keep the momentum going on ST at KR, that's two positions in one guy.

So now we have a receiver room of JSN, Shaheed, Kupp and Horton...I'm not mad at that.

How does our WR corp benefit by having the same #3/#4 WR who failed to do anything with us last year?

21 yards per game = 17M?
I have faith that they can scheme-up much more than that with an entire off season to work on it. He was way more productive in NO. Nothing else really makes sense. They obviously value him.
