Fine. I’ll play but I’m changing up the grading scale. I’m grading on a 1-10 scale. I’m basing my grading scale on team needs, player evaluation and my own personal, do I like him or not as a Seahawk.

7-10, player will probably start at least half the games and fills a previous perceived need.
5-6, player fills a perceived need and becomes a valuable role player.
3-4, player becomes a depth piece. Contributes some.
1-2, has potential to contribute in the future.

Round 1, No. 18 Overall: G Grey Zabel, North Dakota State
9. Zabel fills one of the biggest needs on the team. Should be a day 1 starter at LG

Round 2, No. 50 Overall: S Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina
9. Safety wasn’t necessarily a big need heading into the draft but this pick could very likely pay huge dividends.

Round 2, No. 50 Overall: TE Elijah Arroyo, Miami
5. With the offense being installed, he could play a big role down the stretch.

Round 3, No. 92 Overall: QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama
I’m giving Milroe two grades. A 5 and a 2. He fills a probable perceived need but this fruits of this pick probably won’t come to fruition for a couple years.

Round 5, No. 142 Overall: DT Rylie Mills, Notre Dame
6. Will become a valuable addition to the d line rotation.

Round 5, No. 166 Overall: WR Tory Horton, Colorado State
4. Because WR was a need.

Round 5, No. 175 Overall: FB Robbie Ouzts, Alabama
5. I predict he will become a fan favorite and we will hear Outzssssss from the fans every time he gets the ball.

Round 6, No. 192 Overall: G Bryce Cabeldue, Kansas
4. Has a chance to be an eventual starter.

Round 7, No. 223 Overall: RB Damien Martinez, Miami
3. Special teams is where he will begin his career. Too much talent ahead of him.

Round 7, No. 234 Overall: G Mason Richman, Iowa
4. See Cabledue above.

Round 7, No. 238 Overall: WR Ricky White, UNLV
2. Probably practice squad material especially being picked this late.

That’s my take. Post draft grades are nothing more than a barometer reading of how we perceived the draft to go. The proof is in the pudding as they say. I could be completely wrong, absolutely correct or somewhere in the middle. I hope all of these guys become all pros in their rookie year. Not very realistic but if even one guy becomes an all pro in his rookie season, that would make this a home run of a draft.

Subjective for sure. The need was absolutely a given. I mean, I really like the pick to be honest. If management was in love with Zabel which sounds like they were than good on them for getting their guy.
As you say, the BPA is very subjective. However, if a team's biggest need is a guard who can protect the QB and run block in a wide zone scheme then the BPA was without question Grey Zabel.

I like this draft. It was actually fun. I like the swings they’re taking. We got the guys we wanted multiple times I think. I love the Zable pick. And Milroe is a pretty big upside and third round is a good spot to get bang for your buck. The fullback is awesome. I can’t wait to see him run over somebody. Safety tight end. Multiple lineman. That full back is a Swiss Army knife. I’m stoked for the season. Cooper kupp and JSN are gonna be running butt naked and we’re gonna punch people in the mouth

I have a gut feeling Ouzts will be as prominent to the Hawks as Juice-Check is to the Niners. Could be a highly underrated glue guy who can make splash plays which would be huge.

A+.

I’m way too lazy to list each pick but, I believe we have at least two Day 1 starters in this group.

I also believe that there are current Seahawks that should be afraid…or perhaps it’s driving them to train harder…because I see each and every one of these kids making the roster.

Going out on a limb here but, if he can get a year or two of experience and steady work with his position coaches, Milroe has the potential to take over as the true ‘QBotF’ (yea, I said the term…🤣). I think this kid is going to be a star.

Love the Miami acquisitions. Arroyo may be listed at TE but, he looks like a damn receiver on his routes.

We’re going to compete…for years to come. Playoffs this year - book it.🫣.

Absolutely stoked….Ive never been this giddy after a draft…after 40’ish years of fandom.

JS and MM absolutely killed it.

The team was aggressive and drafted a lot of exceptional athletes. Many at positions of need.

While some may disagree with a few picks it's hard to find fault.

Time alone will tell how good the draft really was but the team did a great job this weekend.

I voted A-. I liked every Round 1-4 pick except Arroyo. This seems like a total Schneider reach pick. Analysis on him is all over the place. His injury concerns are obviously warranted and for a 2nd round pick I felt like they should’ve used that draft capital far more wisely.

I don’t see any player after Round 4 making much of an impact outside of Martinez, but that’s really no big deal. Those are depth pieces and there will be some after camp cuts with those guys.

I’m also hesitant on Zabel. I love that they addressed the need but I’m not expecting him to make a day 1 impact. There will definitely need to be patience as he adjusts to NFL caliber speed and strength. Time will tell what type of player he blossoms into, but I doubt he’ll be better than the guys currently on the roster this season.

I loved that Emmanwari selection. It’ll take a few weeks for Macdonald to find where to play this guy, which will end up being big nickel this season, but once he gets comfortable he’ll be a playmaker. Definitely needs to improve on pursuit angles but he has all the tools to be a star if he’s coachable.

I have no issues with the Milroe pick. He’s going to be our Swiss Army knife guy the next 2 seasons while learning to eventually take the starter reins. What he does with that opportunity when the time comes is anyone’s guess.

Overall A-

Solid A. I've been on Schneider's case for a couple years now but I have to give him credit for an extremely well handled offseason (DK & Geno trades, salary cap management) and now the draft. Really excited to see the product on the field, we haven't been this reinvented since Pete & John's first year back in 2010.

Solid A, all across the board.

I think Seattle did exactly what they NEEDED to do with number 18.

Maximizing all your picks (IMO) for the most part was exactly what they did, although, I’m surprised they went Arroyo and I was expecting that pick to be defensive line, but, I guess Arroyo, can be the one two punch with Barner.

I might be in the minority here but I LOVE the Milroe pick.

Sure, Milroe, is raw and some here would say it was a wasted pick in the third round but I absolutely think Milroe is not going to be majority QB this year and probably not even 2026.

Milroe, will be developing and absorbing the NFL and under the training guide of watching Darnold and listening and learning from the coaches and staff.

Also, since Seattle’s offensive line is still a work in progress, it’s more beneficial for Milroe, to actually be protected by not playing QB right now in 2025. When Seattle’s offensive line improves, and now, we can assume a page has been turned by the front office value of offensive lineman, Milroe, will play with an improved offensive line in 2027 (when I believe he will start).

Remember, Seattle, is intending on building an elite defense and with Milroe steadily improving each week and each month learning even more, when he’s ready to take the reigns—aww man Seattle is going to have an elite defense and a better passing Milroe with legs to destroy the opposition!

I will 10/10 times take Milroe an unfinished product with the highest ceiling and potential to do some amazing things than quarterbacks we know that have mediocre ceilings that cannot ascend a team (we know who they are).

Milroe, is the future, for now. We know this that much, whether you are on board or like it or not.

Milroe, right now, is the future!

Believe it!

I legit think he was on the hot seat. Now I legit think he has earned another season or two.
Yeah, I agree.

We shall see what this year brings.

Also, this is Mac’s second year and Mac actually got to oversee off season operations with his voice in scouting and checking out the senior and going to pro days etc in which he was not able to do last year.

This was a big off season for Mac and from what we know Schneider (otherwise Seattle would not have gone Guard) has made some changes in his approach.

This is an exciting time for the Seahawks that I haven’t seen in a long time.

I’m ready for some football again!

Let’s goooooo!!!

The way he's churning the roster in HIS vision of what he wants, truly reminds of me when Pete came here. Though there was a lot more turnover with Pete overall. Plus, Mike came in very late, so he kind of got maybe stuck with coordinators, as other teams already had their guys before he was even hired. Now, he has had 2 drafts, has HIS coordinators etc. I suspect this truly feels like his first TRUE off season on an even playing ground with other franchises. They've talked about it a lot on 710 ESPN. He was WAY later than other hires last year. And to come here and put up a 10-7 season, pretty impressive. Also, we saw what we wanted, a defense that was drastically improving as the season went on.

Well said, totally agree. Add to it that Mike was a first time head coach last year so he was still getting his legs under him. Not now, he's up and cruising and getting his team dialed.

Milroe is a wild card, I think John got a Don Majkowski feeling on him or maybe a Favre, a wild card that was rough that with patience turned into a leader and a guy that could lead a team.

What I like is we got the right pieces and we got guys that seem to play angry on the field. aggressive reputation for a team has opposition thinking before they walk in the building, who do I have to avoid or look out for, that little bit in their head can be a difference in a catch and drop, or a hesitation to take a peak, or alligator arms.

I am a fan of the pick - love that we took a shot!

Was reading the Alabama boards and they are 50/50 on:

A) liking Milroe as a player at all
B) whether his issues can be corrected

Take that for what you will - getting reality from college fans is tough.
