As a teacher I think it’s silly to pass out grades before any work has been done or any clear assessments have taken place. I get the idea. Overall I’m satisfied with what they have done. They added quality guys to the team.

But grading a draft before any of them play a single NFL play? Kind of a misguided exercise. I suspect most grades are based mostly on if the grader has even heard of the drafted player or someone they watched, followed or read about. Really you either like it or not.

Grading a draft on draft day would be like me handing out students grades based on how quickly they turned in a test based on what I have seen them do previously. Johnny is usually 3rd to 5th in finishing but was first today so he gets an A. Susie didn’t dot the i in her name so she gets a C- . These examples are just arbitrary assessments of how I might subjectively perceive them. My opinion has no bearing on the actual content of the work they have done.

Every draft class is unique. What might seem like the best pick since picks became picks, could turn into a complete turd. We just don’t know. We hope. We want. We just really don’t have a clue until the cleats hit the field.

That being said, I give my experience of this draft an A. Drafted for need in the first round. Had a fun not expected move up in the second round to get a top freakish safety. The Milroe pick? My jaw literally fell open. I loved the draft. Had a great time watching it.

Yeah....If they had drafted Jared Wilson instead of Milroe, I think the Draft is a slam dunk 'A' grade overall.

Oh well....6 out of 7 ain't bad.
Georgia ran an inside zone and gap scheme. I'm guessing he's not the best fit for Kubiak's offense

I think you can grade the pick and not the player. Did the scouts do their homework? Did John get the appropriate value for the pick?

For example, if John drafted a kicker at 18th overall, that would be an F grade. You don't need to wait and see if the kicker can make a 60 yarder.

Now if he drafted one in the 7th round, who is more accurate than Jason Myers, on a more team-friendly deal, then one could grade that an A+ pick.

Hmmm....Never knew that.

I guess they figure they'll have time to properly develop him within this new offense that basically EVERYONE is going to learn from scratch, not just Jalen.

I am going to give JS, Mac and the Seahawks FO and scouts an A

They clearly stuck with athletic value and decided to go all in with the new offensive scheme while still being able to fortify the defense.

Can't believe how many people are $h!tting on the Milroe pick. They used what was essentially a 4th round pick on him. This is not like the Colts using a high 1st round pick on Richardson. If it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world. But this cat has all the tools. The Hawks are never going to have a high 1st round pick (sans fleecing another team in a trade). If you want a potential superstar quarterback, you have to take some big swings. It was perfectly reasonable to take a big swing here.

Zabel: A: You needed to secure a dude.

Emmanwori: B+: I didn't like him at #18, I really dig him in the 2nd.

Arroyo: B+: People hating on this pick aren't understanding what he can bring to the table. He's a mis-match nightmare. True talent was probably in the first round.

Milroe: B+: 3rd round is the right round. The upside is way too much to not take a gamble.

Mills: B: Incomplete for now. He was a day 2 talent before the injury. Dude is twitched-up. Big upside. I give a B for now. Easily can turn into an A.

Horton: B+: He's going to surprise folks. Gave Travis Hunter and Colorado the business. Gave Will Johnson and Michigan the business. Legit speed and he's a Z-WR nightmare when healthy. Kubiak can use him like he uses Jefferson. He's that versatile.

Ouzts: C: He's our FB. Good leader. Good character. People are going to love him. He gets a C only because he might have gone UDFA. I love the player though and what he brings to the team.

Cabeldue: A: He's a 3rd round talent to me. He's as close to Tate Ratledge as you get. One went in the 2nd and the other went in the 6th...So slept on. So athletic. Cabeldue and Zabel are going to be the bash bros.

Martinez: B: He's got underrated speed. A steal as a RB4 on a team. Big time depth.

Richman: C: Depth. Iowa O-line. Nothing more. Nothing less. Not sure he makes the team.

White: B: ST demon. Gunner. Blocks punts/kicks. Really good route runner. Marginal speed. Really good WR3 or WR4 type.

**I can easily see 10 starters/contributors from this draft class alone. This was a monster class. Not much fat at all. Masterclass.**

We got an "A" and had the 2nd best draft in the NFL according to the only one who matters. You guessed it, Mel Kiper.
