I hope he gets hit, coughs up the ball, defense scores! SEA!!! HAWKS!!!
If anything - maybe DK rounds off a route and gets picked by Spoon for 6. But I agree that
I don't think I have ever seen DK take a hit that knocked the snot out of him where he was seriously on the losing end. Maybe Bam Bam Kam could have done that...but we'll never know.

I am a little surprised this came out since DK was on with Mike Rob and Marshawn just last week talking about his 'loyalty'...
There’s the other side of this though too. Just another perspective.

If DK did indeed want to be traded as far as multiple seasons ago, it shows tremendous loyalty to keep your mouth shut and just play ball. And he did. Passionately.

In today’s world, players have resources to cause disruption if they don’t want to be somewhere. He could have publicly demanded a trade. He could have used social media. He could have had others use social media. He could have held out. He could have checked out.

If you’re in a perfect relationship with a dream woman who prioritizes your every need and makes your life easier in every way, are you demonstrating loyalty by not leaving? It’s when she gets sick, loses her job, or gets a few wrinkles that the opportunity to show loyalty arises. Apparently, DK was unhappy for a while, but we didn’t even know.

DK was loyal. He (more than likely) quietly requested a trade again this year , and it just so happened to coincide with John wanting draft capital more than he wanted DK.

Don't get me wrong, DK is a freak. It'd take a ET3 hit, like the hit on Gronk that knocked Gronk out of the SB weeks later. If DK's a freak athlete like alot of people think he is, he'll get over it.

I wish they would have traded him a couple seasons ago and got a higher pick
or two from it.
I think he is overrated myself and is never going to reach elite status ever.
All that speed, height and power that he doesn't use to high point, box out
defenders or run complete routes.
Looks like a shiny car with cheap parts, I'm not fooled by him.
Pitt isn't going to want any more ex-Seahawk players from the offense.

Great point.

Maybe they tried to trade him last year? We will never know. Still doesn't matter. He's in Pittsburgh.

Leaking negative stories about former players after they've been traded doesn't make a franchise more enticing.
Seems to be a common thing now...

Dk numbers went down drastically when Wilson got traded. His TDs were sliced in half and receptions were less despite having an extra game.

The Jets wanted him so badly, we should have done the trade in 2022. Biggest liability was his emotions.

I think him and Russ were/are super close and when Russ left he wanted out then. Probably was never happy after that as the OC's struggled and him and Geno weren't as close either. Some of my favorite plays involve DK over the years but it was probably wise to move on for both parties.

Who is this guy? "Seattle is not a marquee destination."

We get FA that come in here all the time talking about what a great reputation this org has around the league.

Earl wanting to play for his childhood team and DK thinking the grass might be greener somewhere else doesn't say anything about the team. That's on them.

I am a little surprised this came out since DK was on with Mike Rob and Marshawn just last week talking a

I’m a Seahawks fanatic…just like everyone here. I do think MM is going to get things going in the right direction…establish a winning tradition like PC did.

But, on a national level, Seattle is most certainly not a marquee destination for most players.

The ‘buzz’ lasted through the previous decade and slowly began to dwindle away. Marquee places such as GB, Pittsburg, Miami, or LA have either a rich, winning history or the weather and taxes are preferable. The Miamis and San Frans still draw players.

I’m not talking this year, potential, or even arguing against Seattles history. I wouldn’t expect inbound players to say “…the weather sucks here and we haven’t made the playoffs but I love it”.

We all know the national media overlooks the Hawks. ‘Pick XX incoming, right after these commercial messages’. I feel like most players feel the same.

I think that mentality will change here soon with MM and what’s he doing.

I will say that it depends on your perspective. I can see how others think differently than I do. Ultimately, I don’t think it was a factor in FA this year.

Love DK…he knows there are multiple weapons in Pitt…I don’t get the feeling he wanted out so he could be the focal point of an offense. It was just time for change.

My guess is he’ll soon be pissed off at the decision he made.

Thoughts?

A couple of seasons DK has been requesting a trade huh, wonder if Seattle drafting JSN, has anything to do with this. JSN, has been in the league for now a “couple of seasons” and was a first rounder.

But, rather than speculate and since DK is now gone, it makes no sense to further look into why.

I’m good with where Seattle is right now.

Seattle, needed some sort of in house cleaning for this past couple of seasons and everyone will eventually come and go and at some point and this includes ownership.

But, if Seattle, looks to have some sort of possible “turning the corner” upswing in which the team improves, then, I’m all for it.

I’m just excited for this upcoming draft and this upcoming season!

I think the Seahawks handled the situation well. Having Metcalf play for just $13M in 2024 was probably worth more to them than having a higher pick due to an earlier trade. Metcalf playing for them in 2025 at $18M and then leaving as a FA would also have been fine. Paying him $60M, (fully guaranteed), over the next 2 seasons and then maybe cutting him was the potential mistake, but that's the Steelers problem now.

Dunno. Seems kind of odd all this comes out after DK goes on a podcast and says the reason behind his request was due to the new regime. Then out of nowhere it's Brady Hendersons "understanding" that........
