I’m sure it’s going to be a rough few weeks to begin the year. With a whole new coaching staff and schemes. It could be great from the start. Or a complete mess. Just hope if it’s a mess we see improvements each week.

only partially correct. there is a very surprising percentage of NFL players that would have had successful careers if only they could have learned a playbook. for QB's I bet it as high as 30-40%. My brother was a backup in the league for 5 or 6 years and the amount of QB's that struggled learning the playbook was eye opening.

Two approaches:
1. Geno has been good to above average despite our very poor OL line.
or
2. Geno may be good to above average, but the way he played caused the poor rating of our OL.
If you picked (1), then Geno may be great when playing with a functional OL, if you picked (2), he is below average.

I agree . Give Geno Smith a better line with time to throw and he'll kick ace.
Seattle lost a couple of games last season even though they scored what should've been enough to win.
Fix the offensive line and get the defense straightened out ... Seattle will
be back in the thick of it all.

Feels a lot like when Russ was traded. I don’t expect us to be competing for a championship this year but I find myself excited about the possibility of a change and not knowing what it’s going to look like.

From what I read, you are correct, they had him as a 1st rd pic until he went down hill during his last 7 games his senior year per the analysts (he did showed some of his lack of maturity at the combine though). He dropped to the 2nd rd and at pic 39, the Jets selected him as the 2nd QB off the board. Funny thing happened, the Bills had traded down to the 16th spot (funny)and still got the first QB off the board in EJ Manuel. Can you image being able to trade down in the 1st rd and get the first QB off the board, it seems it did go down as the worst QB class ever.

I'm excited..
The offense and D last year was ass for most of the season
I loved UWs offense and was on here asking for Grubb to replace
the one who never used the TEs and kept calling long developing
routes.
I got my wish later and I think we will happy after years of vanilla
offense.

Well they haven’t tackled well in about 4 years. So the only place to go is up.
Geno is a good QB. But that is not the point. In 2025 he will be age 35 with a $38.5 million cap hit. Yet almost everybody here wants to kick the can down the road on drafting a QB. We will probably be drafting again from somewhere in middle of first round with worse QB prospects on the board than at #16 in 2024. Yes, I know we could address other holes on the roster, but look at the bigger picture— QB overshadows every other position.

I don't see Geno's age as a problem here. Sure he'll be 35 in 2025, but he doesn't have the typical QB Mileage on him that someone who's been a starter in the league for a decade has. If he can stay healthy, he's a serviceable QB. Do I think he'll take us to the Superb Owl? Not on his shoulders alone. Hell, Trent Dilfer has a ring, why can't Geno get one?
Let Coach Macdonald and his staff do their thing. Let John Schneider and the Scouts do their thing. Breathe, relax and enjoy the ride. Good or bad, I'll keep cheering for the Seahawks.
(At least they don't have racist, evangelical owners and sex predator freaks. If I could only wash the Texans memories from my brain...)

My next question is why would you lump
Someone having faith with a racist or a predator? I hate racists and predators as well.
