Damn I didn’t realize that’s the first thing Hamilton said about Macdonald.. do you have a video?

Sorry I screwed up the way I phrased that. No Hamilton was glowing about Macdonald as a coach, teacher, person....everything. In the clip above, after hesitating the first thing JSN came up with was "he's a great guy"....nothing about coaching.

Jsn was so under utilized...he should really say what he thinks...
How do we know what he thinks?

I’d say JSN is a baller with star quality, that being said they probably all think they are underutilized.

I’m not by any means defending SW but we don’t know what JSN thinks. I like many believe he was being diplomatic, professional minded people rarely throw colleagues under the bus.

HAHAHAHA, that's awesome; and very telling. Bears fans, be worried. That being said, who knows how much of Waldron's faults were ultimately because of Pete Carroll. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he was much better in Chicago.
So, if the offense under Carroll had the same exact problems yearly, why did Carroll abandon Peteball and make Waldron call the 4th highest pass/run ratio in the league last year despite it being explicitly against the tenets of Peteball?

Reminds me of the 2018 season when they passed too much against the Cowboys. That damn meddling Pete Carroll.

I think he’ll be a great receiver for us. He’s massively talented but he has too many drops on what should have been easy catches. I’m chalking it up to being a rookie but couple that with the fact that he has to share reps with DK and Tyler and I think he was utilized fine. It was our run game that was underutilized.

Underutilized is an understatement

WRs at every level think they're open every route, probably on run plays too lol

I thought that was the game they kept running the ball for minimal gains when the pass was open all day. They played way too conservative in that game

It was. I'm just ribbing Ro over a prior disagreement we had on the topic.

HOW we pass is way more important than how MUCH we pass, and the former rarely changed much regardless of coordinator.

Only a few things really stayed the same forever. I mean, we can point to the evolution of early down passing tendencies, passing frequency in neutral situations, the evolution of their average depth of target under different coordinators, and the frequency of screen passes for a few key indicators of a different approach to passing.

I know a lot of people will point to the predisposition to go routes, but that's league wide. Most common route there is, just a streak. We can't even point to a consistent lack of tight end usage because Zach Miller and Jimmy Graham existed here.

I dunno, man. I don't see it.

This is just my observation but it felt like early in the year all we did with JSN was throw him those bubble screens near the line of scrimmage. I remember thinking that we were told how good he was getting open in the middle and wondered why we weren't using that on third down. It seemed like the Cowboy game before I started seeing that. Maybe there was a reason like he wasn't picking things up but didn't seem like we were using his skill set early

LOL. The offense was not the problem with the Seahawks this year. However, I think we all have a sense that they underperformed, and Geno wasn't as good this year without Dave Canales and Waldron never made it all come together, despite having had three years and some pretty good talent to work with.
Not keeping the other team from scoring is a big problem, definitely. But I'm pretty sure not being able to score more points than the other team is a big problem as well.

I think it will be good for Justin Fields to run a college offense under Waldron.

Give him a couple reads and heavy set offense.

You know it's the offseason when people are reading into stuff like this.

Yep. To me it sounded like just another entitled receiver that thought that every pass should go his way. He's a #3 for cripes sake.

That's what you got out of that? Damn Pitt, that's a stretch, even for you :)
Since when did he complain or have a fit on the field? And let's be real, he was wide open SEVERAL times this season and completely ignored.
Their red zone offense was a joke, OFTEN. JSN is about as far from a diva as we have on this team.

Never said he complained about it or threw tantrums like the other receiver on the team, just said he probably thinks he should have gotten the ball a lot more just like every other receiver in the league. Seriously, does anybody really think the offense was the real problem for Seattle? The red zone offense was a joke yes, but how much of that was because they couldn't run the ball? How much was due to the QB? How much was it Waldron? Lot of variables to consider.

Just seems to me that JSN believes Waldron should have looked his way a lot more and that's bold coming from a rookie #3. Just my opinion.

He must of been pissed when he saw how Nacua and Dell were being used...

Not bold at all. The way they used him much of the season was a joke.
