Oohh Cal's up with the bases loaded again. Can he do it twice in a game?

EDIT: Nope, but he bats another guy in. Too bad. Would have been the first guy to do it since 2009.

Shutout and back in first place.

That was the worst bullpen in the league we faced today. Julio had better be okay.

I mean, that was awesome and I'm super happy for Cal, but let's be honest. Canzone has been waaay better than Cal this year. I can't really fault Francona for the decision. Cal is hitting around .160 with an unthinkably bad .565 OPS. Canzone is hitting around .260 with an .850 OPS. It's just really not close.
You aren't wrong, but I have faith in Cal. F8nding ways to contribute ither than hits and such. He's too savvy a vet to be kept down too long...with the caveat that Cincy is one of the league's worst bullpens.

Besides, no sooner did Dom elbow his way into a top spot than he started slumping. He's been bad the last 15 games.

Pitcher's duel for 6 innings. M's explode in the 7th, highlighted by Cal Raleigh's grand slam.

Kirby with the quality start, 6 innings shutout, 3 hits.

Robles providing most of the spark with a 4 hit game. 13 hits overall. Some more hits with RISP.

Good offensive surge.

Nice start to the series. 3 in a row.

4 at TexASS and 3 at Dodgers..............ouch.

I would be SHOCKED if they go 4-3. But I'm expecting 2-5. Hope to be wrong. Shoot, 3-4 wouldn't even be horrible against those 2 teams. Until I actually see them be anything but horrible on the road, I just don't have confidence they can get it done.

I don't believe the Rangers are a good team. The M's need to win that series at the minimum.

No doubt. I want to believe, just have been down this road too many times. This team just feels different. But it's baseball, stranger things have happened. Look at the Red Sox. They looked like hot garbage, and now have won what 15 in a row?
Then again, we have Dan.......immediate disadvantage.

They need to do something drastic before the trade deadline to add sticks

They were fine without either last night...let's hope that is the same tonight.
It's not the craziest hope given the low quality of that bullpen, but of course I'd rather not play around. Canzone is back to being useless, Emerson is still an automatic out, and Robles ain't gonna have another 4-hit night.

Emerson swings at 5 straight balls. No coaching going on. Not one coach is helping this kid. Not one. It's not a serious franchise.
