Dan has clearly lost the clubhouse. I don’t see how the team can move forward with him as manager after seeing Castillo blow up, and Bryce Miller’s post game comments. Guys on the team don’t seem to understand their roles, and that’s squarely on Dan Wilson.

Wilson’s Mariner legacy is on the line. Big time.

In the words of the great Mike Macdonald, they just need to stack some wins together.

Hard to hate that game. 9-2 laugher.

Piggyback 2.0 works. Castillo 4 shutout innings and Miller 5 with 2 runs late gives the bullpen a day off.

Offense shows up big time with 4 home runs and lots of traffic.

1 game winning streak. LFG!

Piggyback 1.0 worked pretty well also, but we only scored 1 run and Castillo/Munoz gave up 2 in the 9th to lose by 1. Sure, you could argue that they should've put in Munoz to start the 9th in a 1 run game, but the biggest problem, and biggest reason they lost that game, was that we only scored 1 run.

Dan refused to just give Luis a clean 9th inning the first stupid piggyback game. Why does he have to tinker with EVERYTHING? FFS man, can't make up his mind on how to manage a team. He drives me insane.
Dan CHOSE to pull Luis yesterday when he was IN A ZONE, and they HAD A BIG LEAD.
Screw your stupid piggyback, Dan. KNOW...THE....SITUATION. If someone is locked in, leave them in there. There was NO REASON for him to pull Luis that early. zero
His inability to adjust in game is as bad is as we have seen from just about any manager in Seattle.

Side note, I can't be the only one who can see that the vibe is WAY different this season. Something is off, it feels like a completely different team, imo. I do understand that they've had a lot of injuries. But.............at no point this season has this team looked like last year.

I'm just saying, you're not going to win many games scoring 1 run. Yes, the pitching could've been managed differently, but we still might've lost anyway. The only way you win when you score 1 run is if you also pitch a shut out in the same game. Relying on a shut out from your pitching staff to be able to win isn't going to work very often.

Absolutely. Offense is painfully bad with RISP, yet again. Extremely frustrating.

The piggyback thing is an interesting conundrum. Miller and Castillo have both pitched very well both times they've done it, but they're also both clearly unhappy with the situation. Also, it's a pretty big benefit to be able to essentially give your bullpen a day off every 5th game, but at what cost to team chemistry and morale? If both Miller and Castillo are upset with what's going on, there are probably others in the clubhouse that are too.

I don't know. Results wise it appears to be working. Clubhouse wise it appears to be a problem.

Good thing the AL is :poop:
We'll be in this thing all season at this rate :)
So many M's fans at that game last night. Love it. I will echo what others have; the feed was pretty spotty last night.

Also, while the piggyback thing has worked a couple times, Luis and Bryce are both pretty pissed off about it. And it's obvious by their body language, imo. Pretty rare you see the Rock pissed off, and he clearly was after being pulled after 4 scoreless innings. Slammed his glove and jacket after being pulled. And I don't blame him one bit.
Bryce tried to downplay it in post-game, but he clearly hates it. As he should. It's just plain stupid.
710 played the comment from the A's announcer too. Dude was shocked at how stupid it was to pull Luis after 4 innings, with a big lead and pitching as good as he has all season. Ridiculous.
clown show… maybe they got a dancing bear that can throw a fastball?

I hope he isn’t doing what he’s told… that makes it even worse

I've heard that theory, I'm not buying it. But it would make for a great excuse for the Dan lovers.

Jerry has already showed how much he values team chemistry…

This pitcher for the A’s could not have asked for a better team to make his debut against

I take it back we decided to rock this young lefty. Mitch Garver is almost the only grown up on the team. 10%
