Then I want Clowney if that's the case.

Yeah he was very productive in Dallas last year and when in Baltimore had arguably his best season. Still remember him absolutely dominating the 9ers when he was here.

Gauntlet was thrown down the day after we won, Mediots and Amazing Kreskins were annointing the Rams this year already, Mcvag crying about rules, then during the draft we are rated low.

It's ok, 49ers and Rams, Cards too someday can all talk, throwing shade our way does not piss this team off, it makes them Focused and determined.

Bring it on.

I didn't know he had a higher win rate than any current Seahawk. I think at the very least he's equivalent to Mafe? I love it. I expect Durde/Macdonald can get the most out of him and he doesn't have to be an every down guy either. I can't wait to see what this defense looks like with the young guys ascending as well. This is going to be an all time defense when its all said and done.
He blows Mafe's rate away, by far the better player, just on the old side
but he's not playing every down and neither was Mafe.
I love this one-year deal.

High win rate doesn’t equate to sacks just ask Boye Mafe. That tells me the player doesn’t know how to finish hopefully in the process you setup a teammate for the big play. I do think either way Fowler is a good fit especially at $5 million per year
Sacks are overrated at the expense of pressures. Sacks are great because they lead to loss of yards and down, but pressures lead to turnovers. Give me three guys who get 10 sacks a season rather than one guy who gets 20. Plus edge players need to set the edge and neutralize those outside runs. Win rate is about disrupting the offense and minimizing gains.

This Defense will make any average player look great. Fowler will get 10+ sacks and contribute in other areas and get his bag next year. Its a one year rental that revitalizes his career and adds to the Seahawks weapons.

And all for 5 million? That's win win deal for everyone and with 24+ million left, let's go shopping!!

such a solid move. Instantly got better on the edge. Mafe was a no show for most of the year last year. This instantly makes Hall better.

"Up to $5M" probably means about $3.5M.

Although this seem like an older vet, he will actually only be the 7th oldest player on the team and 4th oldest on the D-line.

I've actually kinda walked away from this viewpoint over the last few years. It worked a lot better before every team started drafting Russ clones. Now everyone has a QB who can escape a sack with 3 edge rushers getting a piggyback.

I'm tired of seeing it and I want these guys on the ground.

They're going to need to sign Hall by offseason and also draft a promising DE, but I love this model for as long as the rest of the league lets them get away with it. Sign an older, productive vet who wants to finish his career under Macdonald and this team's culture. They can keep doing this year-over-year.

This used to be painfully true with Seahawks before MM came on board. Way too often when it looked like our D was about to put the opposing QB on the ground for a big loss of yards, the QB would make an elusive move or two, find room to throw, and golly, the opponent just picked up 20.

But now that MM has everyone on D with all of their screws hydraulically tightened, they no longer assume the defenders up front have the QB handled -- even when the potential ball catchers they're covering seem to let up for a second (as they tend to do when they notice that their QB is on the verge of being pulverized). I think some of our defenders in the past used to mirror this, but no longer -- they now make sure they keep covering hard core until the the play is unquestionably over. And thus, under MM, QB pressures seem more effective as compared to pre-MM days.
