50 million a year Will Anderson JR and 40 million a year for the other pass rusher. They just reset the market. Wow. Our guys are grossly underpaid.

I'm 100 percent behind you. I want 50 million.Too me the back end of these recent big extension announcements are signaling dollar debasement. Much of the announced 150 mil will be paid in 2028 dollars and 2029 dollars and 2030 dollars .... all of which will have less buying power than today's 2026 dollars.
Yet another tell in a series of ongoing signals that fiat debasement is a world wide policy of global governance. The Big Print may be accelerating.

I was trying to not be aggressive or passive aggressive towards you or any other specific poster. Some people refuse to either understand or accept that a 3-year $150M extension doesn't mean a player is being paid $50M per year, and making this point gets really old.I dont know what self censorship bs means but nfl just reported this. I do appreciate your passive aggession. 3 year 150 million extention. It's 50 mil a year smugly. But whatever....haha. Highest paid non quarterback. And yes it does effect everyone. They found a way to break the Seahawks. AND They are not close to a superbowl. And then they paid #2 pass rusher 40 million for one year. Texans are crazy.
I was trying to not be aggressive or passive aggressive towards you or any other specific poster. Some people refuse to either understand or accept that a 3-year $150M extension doesn't mean a player is being paid $50M per year, and making this point gets really old.
Example: A QB has 1 year remaining on his rookie contract at $5M. He and his team reach agreement on a replacement contract that replaces that 1-year $5M contract with a 2-year contract that pays him $40M in each year. Media voices shriek: "Oh my God! He's getting a $75M per year contract!". This is followed by certain fans shrieking: "Oh my God! He's being paid $75M per year, every year!"
Anderson was due $5.5M next year and the team had picked up his 5th year option at $21.5M. Anderson wasn't going to play out either season - much like Smith-Njigba wasn't going to play out his original rookie 4th year or 5th year option. Smith-Njigba signed a 4-year $168.6M extension. Smith-Njigba isn't being paid $42.15M per year. He isn't getting $42.15M in ANY year. It would be far more accurate to say Smith-Njigba's 2-year $26.57M contract has been replaced with a 6-year $195.17M contract, (much of which he might never get). This is what Smith-Njigba is actually being paid:
2026 $36,500,000
2027 $32,630,996
2028 $19,937,000
2029 $31,000,000
2030 $33,300,000
2031 $41,800,000
Anderson's annual cash breakdown will be similar. Anderson isn't getting $50M per year, Smith-Njigba isn't getting $42.15M per year, and Trevor Lawrence isn't getting $55M per year. Any fan saying that they are is spreading misinformation, which makes it harder to have a decent forum discussion on player salaries. Apologies if you think i'm getting at or attacking you. That isn't the intention.
