Losing Woolen and this being Witherspoon's contract year our CB depth seems very thin.
CB & edge rusher are two of the strongest positions in this draft, QB & RB two of the weakest.
I would be very happy to only come away with two solid cornerbacks out of this draft and hopefully the best front seven guy they can find at the bottom of the 3rd round.

I think other than RB they can probably do BPA again. I'm assuming a vet DE gets signed post draft like Von Miller to beef that area up and to help any rookie.

It’s not Witherspoon contract year though.

That’s the way I think it will go. CB, Edge, Guard…

I doubt JS takes a RB with any of our picks..UDFA’s…sure.

I’m not saying we don’t need a #1 until Charbs comes back but, I doubt RB is high on our board.

*Edit…need to add this. Someone mentioned but JS seems high on both Wilson and Holani. K-Mac has been injured and doesn’t look like he has a lot of explosion but somehow manages 5.5 YPC when healthy. We still have Akers and Jones as well. That’s five RBs with the anticipation of Charb coming back and taking RB1.

I love Charb but the same argument where folks refrain to K9 and splitting reps…that applies to Charb too.

I’m not a betting man but, I am almost certain that if Price is available at 32, we’re not taking him.

The long shot may be Washington from Arkansas. That’s actually my preference but, even that’s a stretch with four picks…

Long story short, I’m not sure we have an RB1 on the roster…injured or not.

JS and MM have been kicking ass thus far as a team…whatever they roll with will be what’s best.

We have maybe three RBs who probably won't be on a practice squad at some point next season. All we have is bodies.

Ok the voice of reason has arrived, first off JSN isn't getting traded unless John can fleece the Cowboys or maybe the Broncos again.

Secondly you all really need to quit believing the bullshit anyone says this time of year, blogs and flogs and tic tac doe all think they know what is going on, not on your fricken life do they have a clue anymore then any of us that actually know the team and tendencies as well as what we need.

It is a boring time of year for Seahawks fans because we don't discuss business in the media, and when the team does it is usually dropping breadcrumbs in hopes some team follows it to be used and abused in some way.

I'm hoping CB at 32. Seems like some great play makers still available at that range and in my opinion the biggest need on the team.

That's how I see it as well. This is going to be a sh!tty analogy, but last time JS was in an extended SB window, he traded Unger for Graham (line for skill position). It was part of the philosophical degradation of our roster. I think he continues to attack both lines. I like Mike Washington as well, but he seems to be climbing up draft boards (admittedly "internet scout" draft boards).

Would be a failure if they draft for NEED instead of BPA at #32 and imo, Price is going to be the BPA at #32 if he's still there.

We cannot go into the season without some sort of RB1 where all we have are Depth players (aside from the injured Charbs).

If the possibility exists, Price should be the guy.

If Price isn't there, you trade down to get more picks.

CBs can be found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

There are no 1st-round-worthy ones in this year's draft.

Sorry but this post sounds disingenuous.
You state it would be a failure to draft for need over BAP at #32, while conveniently branding Price the absolute BAP at 32? Says who?
And then you pick him because of our implied NEED of a #1 RB. You've annoited Price our saviour, the only player that is a worthy pick for us at 32.

Then you go on to say there are no 1st round CB's when most mocks show 4 CB's going on the first round and cornerback being one of the few strengths of this draft. Then the statement, "CBs can be found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds."
May I remind you our 2nd is really a 3rd and our 3rd really a 4th. I'm not willing to wait for all the best shutdown corners to be gone before we pick one.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is a big test for JS and his reputation & credibility hinge on these four picks and what he comes away with in this draft. Not saying it's make or break, but I don't think we want to return to that 8 year PC draft drought with looming dead cap.

Let John work.
I don't know how many first downs and TD's it will take for Emanuel Wilson to win some of you over but I'm against paying a high Price.

Come training camp I want to see a couple rookie CB's and a shiny new pass rusher.
Watching our division rivals reload I haven't forgotten the path we fought through to become world champs
I doubt John has forgotten about our nemesis either nor how to stop them.

Schneider hasn't traded down from the first pick in eight years and people still talk about how it's his thing.
How do we know it was even a JS thing in past?
You had Pete sitting right next to the phone in the draft room,
Pete taking his shirt off with DK after drafting him, I think JS
gets blamed for a lot of Pete's decisions.

I don't know, but if we're going to give him the credit for all the good decisions from then, he should get blame for the bad ones too. He and Carroll were either a team or they weren't.

I think they deal our 1st for a mid-2d and a 3d or 4th. All the angst about our RB room is a bit overblown IMO. JS seems pretty confident in our RB room. Maybe that's fronting to mislead the competition, but I don't think so. Even in the DB room, we have starters all around. What we need is depth and developmental guys, not necessarily starters. You always need pass rushers, but again I think we're looking more for depth/rotation and developmental guys.

I'm chill.

Maybe he one learned from his past mistakes. That'd be even more admirable than having to give him a scapegoat.

The last draft Pete was there for was tremendous anyway. I think he got fired more for the coaching stuff that passed him by than anything else.

Pete had the final word and was the defense minded coach, more specifically defensive backfield guru.
In 2021 Jamal Adams signed a four year deal with the Seahawks valued at 72M with a 20M signing bonus and 38M guaranteed making him the highest paid safety in the NFL at the time.
That doesn't sound like a John signing.

In 2015 CB Cary Williams was signed to an 18M three year deal with 7M guaranteed...?

Finally QB Matt Flynn, three year 26M, 10M guaranteed. After which John had to talk Pete into drafting Russell Wilson and PC waited until the 3rd round. Why would John feel so strongly about RW when he had just signed Flynn to a huge deal?, and Pete had to be convinced?

Pete said when he left it was to give John his chance and look at what JS has done since his departure. I don't want to blame every bad move on Pete and I'll always appreciate what he did for the Seahawks, but I think there was turbulence and John road it out.

Now our sage GM needs to work some magic with our four measley picks.
