Man, I'm just trying to still process it all.

Life can be a trip. One moment you are praying your team can just survive a 17 game season and the next moment you are watching them hoist the Lombardi with blue and green ticker tape in the background.

It's been a whirlwind. I suppose we should have seen it coming from the start. Mike is a savant, John is an architect. The perfect marriage.

The team brought back a sports psychologist that Pete used back in the hey day. John thought that Mike could benefit from his knowledge and experience and boy did it pay off in dividends. "Chasing edges" wasn't just a mantra, it was a way of life. The culture is real here. Far more than most teams. In fact, it's probable that the Seahawks have had the best culture in all of sports for the better part of a quarter century. Outside of the rare bitter player that doesn't fit, it's highly likely you will hear a player talk anything but positive about the players, coaches, culture outside of the building in VMAC.

I've spent more time inhaling and digesting every single Seahawks-related YouTube video in the past month than I have in 5 years.

It's embarrassing how much time my ass has rested on my sacred spot on my couch.

I like what another member said..."The Seahawks made me fat." Ha! I think I gained a respectable 15 pounds at least over the past few months due to my celebratory indulgences. Ah, worth it.

Now the confetti has fallen. The streets of Seattle are no longer lined with hundreds of thousands of 12s. The players have gone home to their families to recuperate over a season that ended in 17 wins and a Lombardi. The offseason is blissfully shorter for us than any other team in the NFL. The draft and OTAs are here before you can sneeze. Everybody's 0-0 again. Hope springs eternally eternal once again.

Today I am nursing a hangover. I spent yesterday walking parts of the ocean in Long Beach, Washington, wearing my swag with pride. I got a few "Go Hawks!" here and there. It's funny, there's a palpable difference between arrogance and pride. I don't feel arrogant, and I don't think most of you do either. What I do feel is a sense of peace and pride that comes with being a diehard fan of not just a team but a franchise, an organization that is doing it, and has been doing it, the right way for decades now.

And make no mistake. Nothing is more sweeter than hoisting a Lombardi on 49ers land.

The only thing that can top that is doing the same down the street in SoFi Stadium next year.

We.

Did.

Not.

Care.

This. It's interesting that as I get older different things mean more to me than they used to. Having a competitive team that's in the race every season is great, and even better if we win it all in decisive fashion like we did this year. But having a healthy, positive, attractive culture that is uniquely unmatched carries a new meaning and I'm just as proud of that as I am a trophy. All of the previous players on the sidelines and at the game was a direct reflection of that culture. Us old guys can certainly recall when players and coaches considered Seattle the witness protection program of the NFL. Just getting free agents to visit was a challenge, resulting in management having to overpay guys to come here. But not anymore. A tremendous amount of credit goes to Paul Allen and all of the talented people he hired to build what we now enjoy. It literally took a solid 25 years to overcome the disastrous Behring tenure of deliberate organizational destruction. But Paul did it.

We're living in the good 'ol days, and here's to them never ending.

Post SB euphoria is way better than postcoital:

1. It lasts waay much longer. I don't even need the next one for at least another year.
2. Friends, even strangers, will high five you due to the performance.
2a. Friends will even buy you drinks because of it.
3. You get to watch tons of videos from the performance that can keep brining the joy for weeks to come, many of which may surprise you of how good it really was.
4. There's a special T-shirt to commemorate the event.
5. Zero worry of the euphoria turning into dysphoria.

Speaking of next year....oh my god, how I would LOVE to do it again but this time at SoFi.

The idea of the Hawks smoking cigars in the Rams lockerroom gives me all warm and fuzzy feelings. :devilish:

Our SuperSonincs are returning home at some point. Now that Coach Mike has brought us a SB win, how can the NBA commission delay this any longer.
