Matthew Freedman updates his latest NFL Mock Draft for 2026

With the conclusion of Super Bowl 60, the 2025-26 football season is officially over.

NFL Draft season has officially begun.

What does that mean?

Feb. 17 - Mar. 3: Franchise/transition tag period

Feb. 23 - Mar. 2: NFL Scouting Combine

March 11: New league year/free agency starts

Football might be over, but the next month will still keep us busy.

And that means it's time to update my mock draft.

I'm not one to brag, but …

For the 2025 draft, I was No. 1 in big board accuracy and No. 3 in mock accuracy. Since 2020, I'm the No. 1 mocker in the known universe.

3 ARI Francis Mauigoa Miami OT EDGE
4 TEN David Bailey Texas Tech EDGE WR
5 NYG Carnell Tate Ohio State WR OT, CB

32 SEA Brandon Cisse South Carolina CB WR, EDGE

I would move up for Vega or stay put for Pregnon or Chase Bisontis.

I don’t see the Jets drafting an off ball LB @2. IMO Caleb Downs is the best player in the draft whether you feel you need a safety ( which the Jets do need) you draft him and find a spot for him

If we lose Woolen or Jobe then Cisse would be my top choice. We did very well with a SC DB last year and I think Cisse might be even better. DT would be great as well. Big Cat and Reed are only getting older. We have Murphy and Mills showed promise in a very small sample size but we need more depth there and this is a pretty good DT class at the top.

I like Bisontis as well. Hopefully they can trade back into the 2nd round and still get him with maybe a high 2nd? We'll see how draft values change here coming up with the combine and all.

I honestly love the draft. I'm an official geek. As a young kid in the late 70's early 80's, I used to so look forward to the Draft preview publications to arrive on the shelves (Again, I was in Elem school) and would be checking at the local 7-11 daily for their arrival. The off season as now Super Bowl Champs leading up to the draft is all the sweeter. Pinch me.

Now you all know my secret shame. 😆

I'd target edge if there and Zion Young is in this draft. Can get a corner later. Mafe is a free agent this year and both Hall and Nwosu next year.
