Florida and loving GOP country!
Super early, but the way we are built, I have this feeling that we could be contending for quite a while. It looks like we will have around $73,000,000 to play with this upcoming season, and I am not a cap guy who would lie and say I understand everything, but who does everyone here see walk, get a raise, come via trade or free agency?

Walker gets tagged or resigned, I think Woolen and Jobe are gone. Possibly Bryant too.
I wonder if we could sign Trey Hendrickson. That would be incredible.

Forgot to say Mafe is probably gone too.

With a meager 4 draft picks, JS will need to find some UDFA gems or sign several starting caliber FAs. He has an opportunity to pick up several comp picks (for next year) if the FA process falls right. He has cap to work with. He'll need to pick-and-choose who is worth the premium a Championship pay raise (expectation) brings. He'll also be weighing the return on potential trades vs the pipeline of young talent on the roster. It's a lot. ...and it's a different evaluation than he's had before. This off season will be really interesting and have an impact good or bad (I guess they all do...but this one obviously and forsee-ably) for the next 10 years.

1. Replace Kubiak (other coaches who leave with him)
2. Resign Shaheed. Spent two picks on him need to resign before he hits FA
3. Resign or tag Walker
4. Resign a CB. Probably Jobe. Woolen likely too pricey.
4. Attempt to resign Bryant/Woolen/Mafe. Likely not but maybe.
5. Extend Spoon or JSN by preseason. Can't afford both to hit FA next year as you'll only be able to tag one. Ideally get both done so you can start working on Leo.
6. Draft another edge. Nwosu/Hall free agents after next season. Will need next dude

5th year option on jsn will help spread the hit so while expensive it can be done
We need to retool a bit in the trnches but mostly backup/rotation types to push for starting jobs
If again JS can do JS things we could be right back here next year

I'm actually starting to lean away from Rashid Shaheed being a likely re-sign. He got us two wins in the regular season, one of them through his ST role, so maybe. But I realized the other day that he's drawing 3 targets a game, less than half of what he got in NO. I don't know if SEA wants to shell out for that. Plus, Kubiak, the guy who's familiar with him, is leaving for Oakland. I mean, maybe. We've got the cap space and Kupp is old.

I do think we'll want a good splash in the secondary. But the mega contract coming for JSN is going to claim a lot in their thinking.

My mistake.

You know who would be howlingly perfect for multiple reasons, assuming he's available?

Garrett Bradbury.

I am as well. Really thin WR free agent market this year. I bet he gets paid a lot. Initially I figured we would resign him. Now after the seasons over I'm kinda doubting it.

Rylie Mills is an example of swapping an injury redshirt year for premium talent. Tory Holt is another example of getting draft value for an injury unknown. The way that those two picks seemingly paid off, I am starting to see a trend here. I wonder how many other injury risks will slip in the draft for 2026? The team could use another corner back. I also want to see the Seahawks draft at least one quality OL every year no matter how strong they perceive their depth to be.

There is college running back by the name of Kaelon Black who played for Indiana that really stood out to me. He projects as a fifth rounder, and his pro comp is Kyle Monangai of the Bears. I love the way that this kid runs and I could let the high priced K9 go knowing that there is some decent RB talent out their including a couple of raw talents already on the Seahawk practice squad. Defensively, I could easily move on from Woolen. I think Coby Bryant is replaceable. I would make a serious attempt to resign Jobe. I could also accept moving on from Mafe, but Hall is definitely an extension priority. They can't let Hall out of the building.

Shaheed can be neutralized with a long hang time on punts. Every team will copy NE’s blueprint to make him irrelevant. I think resigning walker will be a mistake too. RBs usually go downhill after a big contract. I say spend money on spoon, draft a WR2, and shore up an aging d-line.

I mean.... lets be fair.. his targets is because of him or game plan? Honestly.. so yes him and special teams.. and him as a 2nd/3rd WR with speed like Horton... Cupp isn't going to last much longer...

No offense but using targets as the usefulness for a WR is sort of odd

We traded some decent draft capital to acquire Shaheed. I have a feeling we did it with the intent of keeping him around. You are right though, he was not a very effective receiver considering what we gave up. I think by the time he got comfortable we had started the transition to a run first team. He’s a hell of a versatile weapon though.

I also distinctly remember Shaheed saying he wants to be here long term when he arrived. He won’t be disrespected, but I can see him signing a deal that is structured cap friendly.

Why do you want to add the possibility of Hendrickson who is going to cost a lot of money and capital.

Some players don't work our changing teams look at Jamal Adams, JC Jackson. There are many players that don't work out well why take the chance?

Do we find some supporting pieces on the Oline? What was our one glaring weakness overall?

RG - Bradford

Also LB.

If it were up to my opinion

Re-sign

CB Tariq Woolen,
S Coby Bryant,
CB Josh Jobe
RB Walker.

Re-structure

Nwosu
Myers

Sign and trade for

EDGE Boye Mafe,

I believe with Mike Morris and Rylie coming in, there's too much people which is a good thing.
