I don't get the Kubiak talk. A solid organization isn't going to hire him, and he'd be nuts to take something like the Browns, Cardinals or Raiders. And he isn't nuts.

I think McCarthy to the Steelers makes some sense. He seems to tolerate Metcalf-types and Rooney-types well, and they seem to tolerate 'almost really good' fairly well. Maybe it's a perfect match.

Maybe he didn't interview well? Said before but he doesn't have much of an inspiring personality. Good OC but leader of men i'm not sure of. He may still have got offers but if it's the Browns or Cardinals do you really want it? You could be fired within a year.

Teams may also not wait for him if we make the super bowl.

We waited when it was the right guy. Some teams are stupid though.

This is possible, but when you're a desperate team like the Raiders, they will hire anyone.

Raiders are in the same boat as the Cards and Browns as far as dysfunction. They ultimately need a CEO culture builder type.

I feel McDermott would be a great fit there

So the remaining teams are Bills, Cardinals, and Raiders. It looks like a strong chance that Daboll gets the Bills job as that is what Josh Allen wants. So Cards and Raiders. If I were Kubiak and those were the choices, I'd be staying put in Seattle.

I would not want to play for the Cards, or try and "right their ship". It is a hopeless cause. I know LV has one of the worst ownership situations in the NFL, and I would say the same for the Cardinals. How else could they screw things up so badly? No matter the players or the draft or a decent QB can elevate them from perpetual gutter dwelling. I see the Steelers are finished as a great franchise. They hung on to the old coach for WAYYyyyy too long. Renting QB's is not how you win long term, and their style of play and even their uniforms are dour and dreary. There is no fear when teams play them, and they do not dazzle.

Probably better than McCarthy or anyone else available. What we haven't talked about is the fact that Jerry Jones isn't in the limelight at the moment. Maybe he'll fire Schottenheimer just to get attention - then hire McDermott? :ROFLMAO:

(I like your signature line....but I had to quote you to make sure it wasn't specific to me, as I've heard that before.)

The Steelers belong in that group. They made the playoffs because their division sucks worse than they do.
The Steelers have a culture of winning though. It may not be contending but they've been a play off team forever and 6 super bowls. Can you imagine their fan base if they had been as bad as the Cardinals or Raiders? Feel like the Steelers are where we were during the last seasons of Carroll. Good not great team that needs a reset.

Raiders may have woke up, Mark is not his dad, it's taken a couple decades to figure that out, why they are finally getting football people involved in the front office again. Browns, Cards, Miami, have meddling owners as well as the Bills it appears.
Steelers I think is in transistion from old gaurd to new, they need facilities, they have started to get cheap, they have a smaller football staff. They may turn into another Bengals type franchise, They have Old Money not the new money of companies that are more .COM attached.
