Entertain me - this D as good as 2014 LOB?

Blasphemy maybe but this defense is insane. I’d say less talent, definitely in the secondary, but what this D has done against some really good offenses is so impressive.

17 vs 15 ppg, easily on par if not better than Pete’s best run D, much more complex scheme but rarely blitz. Never give up big plays and tackling is on par (maybe better) with the best years of Pete.

I dunno man. We’re witnessing something special I think.

I don't think there's much between them.

2014 was arguably better than 2013 - but they did finish 1st in yards, points AND turnovers in 2013.

But the building blocks are here for a while - I think 2026 could be even better

Also, despite all the 9ers injuries, their offense was red hot before the Seahawks shut them down in week 18.

The LOB had 5 straight years of being the #1 defense. This defense has a good start.

i think they MIGHT be... HOWEVER... the only test not is how many yrs can they sustain it. LOB did for 4-5 yrs

For sure, that’s what holding me back from thinking this fully. The level of play from 2012-2016ish was unmatched. I think as a year to year comparison it’s close, maybe 2014 slightly better, but this is an excellent defense.
