I think it was more of a momentum check to see if they can actually stop the run. Worst case we get a field goal. Kudos to the niners for the stop. Still a long game ahead of us so no need to bring out the big guns early in the game.

i mean realistically I feel they start slow to get a feel of what the defense and offense for the opponents will do and adjust as needed. Because we actually adjust
