When we win the division we go to Superb Owls. It's overdue for another! We are gonna do it (or have) with our game managing "pro bowl" quarterbacks. Matt, Russell and Sam

I forgot the tear that Matt went on the year we went to the Owl. He finished the season throwing 10tds to 1 INT with a 130 rating over the last 5 games. And that was in part WITHOUT S Alexander who went out with an injury. He put the team on his back and we won games on his arm.

Love me some Hasselbeck.

Thanks for posting these. I rewatched our first NFCCG yesterday. It was nice to relive the emotion of that game. From Paul Allen raising the 12 flag, to the trick throw to Seneca Wallace, and the final kneel down by Matt.

It was cool that I listened to Matt on Hawkbloggers podcast talking about how special a moment that was for him and the team and how important it was to them to give the fans what they missed back in 1983.

Great stuff.

I think he is the Wed guy for Brian. I admit my admiration for Matt has escalated significantly since listening to his take on that podcast. He makes it fun and educational, plus really stirrs the memory pot. I get about as much good out of that show as anything else available on the football net.

Agree 100%

Matt kind of changed my perspective on the game in that he epitomized the player who was extraordinarily talented, very successful (should have won a championship), but seemed to not be so completely devoted to the game that he was the Brady type that ate, drank and bled football.

Matt maintained the 'everyday dude' character who you'd be happy to hang out with and who just happened to play football from 9-5. He was a fierce competitor but never seemed to lose perspective of the big picture.
