Look I get it, "we need to focus on the divisional round first." That's for the players. I had this thought strike this morning regarding the NFC Championship and the 12th flag raiser. Die-hards know that Paul Allen has raised the 12th man flag at every NFC Championship game we've been a part of. Unfortunately, that can't happen again.

With that in mind, who should raise the flag? I don't know if Jody is the right person, because we all know she will eventually be selling the team and I'm not sure she's as invested as Paul was. So the thought struck my mind that since Pete Carroll was fired by LV, maybe he could raise the flag? I would love to see that! Better yet, if him and Mike Holmgren could raise the flag together as the only coaches to take us there before, it would be a special moment.

I have not had a flag up all season, I think that will change for the rest of the year. Every game from now on.

Too early for Pete. Let Jody do it, she has been great so far.

I don’t see her as a “hype the crowd” kinda of girl.

YMMV

And I don’t disagree that it’s probably too early for Pete, unless as already mentioned Mike H. were to join him. That IMO would be really cool

Paul Allen wasn't a hype the crowd kinda guy. It wasn't about Allen's ability to hype the crowd, it was about his dedication to the city and to the team. I was there for his first flag raising (and the other two as well) and it wasn't a "hype the crowd" moment, it was a this man saved this team and look at what he has achieved. It's more about the ownership's relationship to the team and fans. Jody represents Paul, and it should always be Paul's spot, IMO.

Holmgren and Carroll definitely have their spots in history here, and should raise the flag for an important game, but give me an Allen in that spot all day.

Doug Baldwin or Luke Willson.

I love Luke but he came out on TSN in Canada & said he thought the Lambs were still the better, more complete team, & this was after Saturday's big win.

Maybe it was just the lingering PTSD coming out, IDK.

100% Jody Allen. The owner of the team has raised the flag for 3 Championship games and the Hawks have won every one. it would be idiotic to mess with that sort of tradition and streak.
This. And even if it wasn't a sort of tradition in the making here, which it is, I'd still want her to do it. She deserves a metric ton of credit for the masterful job she's done as an owner since taking over and filling some mighty big shoes. And that's coming from a pretty seasoned chauvinist.

Bro, give me a break please.

I’m fully aware of Paul’s contributions, not only relating to the Seahawks, but also his multiple other philanthropic endeavors.

Paul Allen ABSOLUTELY hyped the Seahawk fans.

Although his sister has done a great job, she simply doesn’t have the same relationship with the fans. I mean absolutely no disrespect to her, you, or anyone else here.
No doubt in my mind, she is respected, and she would certainly receive an applause.
It’s simply not the same, and there are many better choices to use in an effort to get the fans hyped and frothing at the mouth.

Certainly you don’t believe she would have an equal effect as say “BeastMode” would?

What are you on about? I am not busting your balls. Just stating my opinion.

I assume most Hawks fans are?

Paul Allen ABSOLUTELY hyped the Seahawk fans.

Were you there? I was. The first time he raised the flag for the NFCCG fans were literally crying in the stands. Yes they cheered and applauded, but it was a moment of deep respect, not "frothing at the mouth".

Although his sister has done a great job, she simply doesn’t have the same relationship with the fans. I mean absolutely no disrespect to her, you, or anyone else here.

That's not the point. It's Paul's spot, she represents Paul. That's the point. On top of that, she has been stellar so far.

No doubt in my mind, she is respected, and she would certainly receive an applause.
It’s simply not the same, and there are many better choices to use in an effort to get the fans hyped and frothing at the mouth.

There are a handful of people that would certainly get the crowd hyped up, but again, that's not the tradition that's been set. People weren't frothing at the mouth when Paul raised it any of the times he did it.

Certainly you don’t believe she would have an equal effect as say “BeastMode” would?

He's done it before, and got a similar reaction to other Seahawks legends. It's not like Lynch is going to make a difference in how loud the crowd is during the game.

Go Hawks!

Don’t disagree with the credit due.

The flag raising isn’t about showing respect to the raisers as a primary objective, although it’s certainly an aspect.

Maybe I’m wrong but my opinion of the matter is, the flag raising is to Honor the fans and hype the crowd.
I believe working the crowd into a frenzy is the objective we all should be seeking.

Seattles Home field advantage used to be a real thing, and although it’s certainly making a comeback it’s not what it once was.

Crowd involvement is key.

Won’t hurt my feelings if JA gets the nod, I just believe there are several better candidates.
