I just have to say, he was danm good today. He had some dimes on 3rd down, and extended drives.
The run game was amazing today, but Sam played a huge part in this win.
I would say that is another monkey off his back, hopefully he can get another one in two weeks, but im proud of him.

What pisses me off the most is that this "monkey" has been completely created by the media/bitter Vikings fans and blown completely out of proportion

Lots of QB's have bad games, and the games last year A: weren't as bad as they say B: Not totally his fault

Its a runaway narrative that probably has gotten to him a bit. Wish people would shut up about it (including our fans)

Happy for him today.

Played a solid game and moved up and scrambled in the pocket. Missed the easy TD in the flat but who cares now
I was pretty pissed that he missed the easy pass to Charbonnet in the early game as well. But who gives a F after the end of the game?

He played well with no picks. Defense carried us through. Ultimately defense wins championships.

O’Connell made Sam throw 44 times in this spot last year… today Mac / Kubiak very wisely didn’t throw the game on him - we are going to sledgehammer teams with 30-40 runs a game from here out and play crush your face defense. Ask Sam to make 5-8 throws a game on play actions to move the sticks at critical times - and he will continue to thrive in this model.

Okay...deep breath here...WHY IN THE EFFING HELL DIDN'T WE RUN THE EFFING BALL ON FIRST AND GOAL FROM THE ONE???? I was beside myself back then...
I was ticked too. If our defense wasn't so surreal I think we pay dearly for that. If we are ever 1st and goal from the 1 or 2 rest of year I want us to run 4 straight times, unless we are up 6 late then kick FG on 4th down.

Probably not going to be popular opinion but 13 points 1 TD against the most banged up D in the league. Sorry not impressed. Going to need more than that to make a run.

The nuance of the game was a big part of that

Playing it the way they did was smart. Niners couldn't move the ball hardly at all

They didn't need to get fancy just to impress fans on a message board

I was livid with the play call at the time. Why in the EFF get cute there? They'd already showed us that they couldn't stop us on the ground. It made no sense whatsoever to me. Completely unnecessary.
