Think about that for a second. NINE POINTS TOTAL. Get this.. every one of our three losses came down to the last play. The NFL is a parity league. EVERY TEAM is damn talented and capable of beating anyone.

We have played 16 games and have not shit the bed one time against a team we should have beaten. That’s almost impossible to do over the course of an NFL season and speaks to a very high high degree of mental toughness and preparation.

I don’t really have any poignant comment, but just wanted to remind us all who probably don’t need reminded that this GM and head coach have absolutely given us a season that exceeded all expectations. God bless the Seattle Seahawks!

The big difference between us and those Lions is that the Lions had a motivational type coach who 100% relied on his coordinators. Once Johnson left, they were a shell of their former self. Campbell is a great coach and mentor but was very reckless in prioritizing his teams identity over winning in the playoffs (coincidentally against Santa Clara).

For Seattle, our magic coordinator happens to be the head coach. Even if we falter this year due to inexperience, I don’t see us falling precipitously in the future.

Sure, my disdain for the Niners pulls me to focus on Shanny’s failure to win a Super Bowl with teams that were obviously superior. I believe it was ego, we can respectfully disagree. Particularly with the Falcons when he was OC.

Where we won’t disagree is that (ok, this is hard for me to say), the fact the Niners have had the success they have had this year has been nothing short of mind blowing. I have to agree with @Marvin49 in another thread that if the Niners win the Super Bowl, it will go down as the greatest coaching performance ever.

I remember being cautiously optimistic. I feel bad admitting this, but my first thought was “it’s a good signing because we can get out of it after a year”.

All the talk was how Darnold only succeeded in Minny because of his head coach and all world receiver.

Well….

Turns out he inherited another all world receiver. Plus, he got the best defense in the NFL which has relieved the pressure of him having to be perfect.

Yep Darnold just needs to safely drive the bus with no crashing

Hahahahahaha. Man, imagine watching your team get absolutely shellacked in the most important game of the season and trying to talk smack. Shanahan/Purdy choked away a chance at the number one seed, and will get knocked out of the playoffs by whomever they play in the wild card round while the Hawks will be kicking their feet up studying tape and getting healthy. 49ers are old as dirt and aren't seeing the playoffs for a long time after this season while the Hawks are young and only getting better. Must sting watching your best chance at a Superbowl run for the next decade get ruined by Sammy D.
