The Rams had better coaching.

Our Defense almost won it despite that and Darnold crapping the bed, but you cannot overcome both your QB and your Offensive coaches failing in key moments. I disagree the offensive scheme was sound and the play calling was average.

Also, why even trade for Shaheed if you are going to use him like that? I think Kubiak beat up on a bunch of tomato cans and looked brighter than he was. As bad as Darnold was, Kubiak was almost as bad.
More yards.. better TOP... the play calling wasn't the issue.. or coaching.. at all.. it was 4 Turnovers.. PERIOD

Four ints, and Hawks still managed to keep the score close. Kind of amazing. Had it been just three ints, the fourth being a successful drive instead, we'd surely have gotten the W. Sam needs to figure out how to stop throwing ints vs Rams.

No.

The Rams scored 2 TDs they got, after 3rd down stops by our defense. Because they went for it, and converted on 4th down.

They won by 2. Rams coaches made better decisions. Ours thought they could win the game by kicking FGs.

The Rams had better coaching. We were doing crap like running end arounds with Shaheed. And running the ball with under 1:30 in the game when we were behind. Our offensive playcalling was abysmal. But worse than abysmal, it was stupid. The reason we were walking to the line with under a minute to go? That is on the coaches.
For a while, it looked like the coaches had given up and were just trying to play out the string until the game ended. Our OC called the equivalent of 4 INTs himself.

Cant keep getting away with "going for it" on 4th down
They got stuffed on the goal line 7 out of 8 times in the first quater
I'd say thats more "hope and prayer" then smart coaching.
worked out for Mcshook today, but might not later

They didn't need to.

BTW how many plays did the Rams run where they were running the clock out, while they were behind in the 4th quarter?
Just curious.

I loved the way we played. We established the long drives. Now we just need to get efficient in the red zone. Yes the ball jeopardy is a problem but we as a young team can only grow from here. To me being in a stadium and keeping the ball away from Stafford gave me so much excitement. Worried about Zabels injury but we definitely put ourselves in the national map. To me, we should be able to win the next outing back at home. Hawks fans were amazing and we were a lot of us. Sam can learn from where he got confused and games like this build grit with the young guys.I loved how hard we ran and kept the time of possession. It will only help us getting accustomed to playoff level football. Sam’s our guy, we roll with him.

Clock management was about as good as one can get after our touchdown. Something was different about Darnold right from the beggining. His accuracy just wasn't there. I feel that the uptempo passes Sam normally makes with ease were off target. He was more timid and measured and that didn't help.. this game was coached to keep the ball out of Staffords hands and it worked. Likely two tries more this season.

This is one of the best games Seahawks have had in some time from which they can learn a lot and draw up a blueprint of specific things to work on and fix. Not everything will be immediate, some things will be a process, but if they're committed, they can get there.

What I really love about Mike Macdonald is that he fixes problems. He fixed our defense after Tampa Bay. He's clearly gotten with Kubiak at different times over the season to get some quirkiness out of our offense. I have to think he'll have a hard look at this one.
