This defense shut down Stafford. Thats huge. 4 interceptions and we still could have won. Our 3 losses by a grand total of 9 points. We had no business being in it but we were. Hope Zabel isn’t out long

Just watching Darnold looking lost in the most crucial time in the game is mind boggling. He really does see ghosts when he is nervous. No clutch factor.

The last two drives he was actually a lot better.

Zabel is done. Our 3 interior lineman now are the worst 3 in the league or damn near the bottom. Same plays terrible under pressure. And our kicker is never going to hit a long FG to win it. So much talent on the team and the reasons above are why we will all be heartbroken come Jan.
ANYBODY but Myers, in the offseason of 2024/25 multiple kickers with better legs and consistency became NFL stalwarts. Hell, why not take the guy that the Ravens kicked to the curb? He has leg and accuracy. Myers has average leg strength, but spotty accuracy.

Ill wait to hear more before I assume Zabel is done. Maybe he comes back this season

All I ask is that the defense play good, AND the offense not shoot themselves in the foot. The fact that the Rams managed to eek out this win, and the one in Seattle last year, by Seattle's offense shooting themselves in the foot, despite the defense doing their job, is beyond frustrating.
This right here. I HATE losing games in this manner.

I want to blame Jason Meyer but I can't cuz it was 61 yards Sam's four that was the difference but we got to learn go forward look out Titans
I don't blame him but he's is just unreliable. Hell choke easy kicks and it's pretty much guaranteed he'll miss tough kicks in big moments.

That tragic thing is that we are so much better than the Rams as an overall team. Last year and over the last 4 years, we couldnt say that. We had one of the worst defenses, worst o lines, worst o coordinators and most anemic run games. We had to play perfectly to win. Now we have a legit O, one of the better o lines in the league, a good run game, and an elite D and we literally throw the game away with unforced errors. And the worst thing is that if Sam cant unchoke himself, all of this ability is going to be squandered. We couldnt say that in the recent past. Now we have the pieces across the board INCLUDING coaching and we are tossing it away.

And no, its not just one game. Sam has 10 INTs now and 4 fumbles for 14 TOs with better than 1/3rd of the season left. Today wasnt a blip on an otherwise stellar trend of playing smart ball. He is on pace for 20 TOs or better. Anyone who thinks he isnt capable of reaching that hasnt been watching. Today he had 4. Last week he had 3. ANd it comes after everyone last year KNEW he was apt to do stuff like this. In other words, its not a surprise.

I get JSN is great and on pace for an all time great season, but if we have to dial back the O to limit us losing games, I'd rather lose 17-16 where we played a clean chess match of a game than lose one like we did today where we dominated one of the most explosive offenses in the league, ran the ball really well and gave up... wait for it... ZERO sacks and threw it away with idiotic QB play in moments where the QB didnt HAVE to make the play.

ZERO sacks. ZERO. If the argument is that the o line was so bad and Kubiak is horrible, why did we outpass Stafford and the Rams 29/44 for 279 vs 15/28 for 130?? Explain that one.

But its simple. The OC is good enough. the O line is good enough. The run game is good enough. And you saw on full display how a QB who is getting REAL pressure still manages to win in Stafford, who stat wise was held in check but didnt lose his team the game.

Shula beat Kubiak.

Since I come into division games thinking it'll be a split, I'm not too upset. Frustrated by the 4 picks, for sure. I'm eager to see how the offensive game plan adapts in round two.

And, we'll be seeing Mcvay and Macdonald both adjusting their game plans next time too. This is a long term chess match we're going to see a lot of for the next who knows how many years.

Sam turned back into a Pumpkin and this is his ceiling. The defense played incredible and lights out and I'm as optimistic about this team after a loss then I ever have been before
