If Cal hit .287 he would have won it. But less walks, more k's and a pitiful .247 ba? C'mon his defense KEPT HIM in the conversation.

Agree to disagree. He is by FAR more valuable to his team. F the Yankees and the voters who don't actually understand that.
These voters take it personal when they vote. You will NEVER convince me otherwise.

And having Don Mattingly announce it from his house? How pathetic.

In this day and age, I wouldn't call a .247 batting average "pitiful". As a matter of fact, the cumulative batting average for all of MLB in the 2025 regular season was .243. Cal's batting average was "average."

And it was more than just his defense that kept him in the conversation. Cal hit 60 home runs during the regular season, setting an all-time record for both catchers and switch hitters, and hit 5 in the playoffs. Plus, we're not just talking about defense, ie errors, putouts, etc. Cal helped manage the pitching staff.

But I do hear ya about his batting average. It was obviously the biggest weakness in his polling.

Then have MVP be for all-around player, and who is MOST VALUABLE TO HIS TEAM.
Not just the best hitter.

Naw man, it is not Homer's to think that the best overall player in the mlb deserved the award lol. Judge is good at hitting and thats sweet, but yeah.. Cal is on a different tier defensively and its not even close.
