Maybe conventional wisdom will once again not come to pass. Maybe we lose the first game and then beat Skubal in the second.
Julio running into the double play instead of just stopping was BRUTAL! We win the game on a sac fly by Polonco if Julio avoids the DP. I knew that was going to be the difference.
And then advance him with a wild pitch. That's why you absolutely cannot walk the leadoff hitter in extras. It's amazing how often it comes back to bite you.
The Mariners are a cursed franchise. Cursed with terrible ownership and bad luck.
Only team not to reach world series? Mariners, and we've never really be close either.
Until 2022 we had the longest playoff drought in all of the major professional sports leagues.
If MLB added 10 new expansion teams next season, each and every one of them would reach the world series before the Ms.
If Seattle were on the east coast the Ms would be the biggest laughingstock in sports. The only thing keeping the Ms from that notoriety is that we're in southern Alaska.
Well I wouldn't expect many more in today's game. The key is, can we score at least one more run than them? I'll take a 2-0 win today.Last 4 playoff games at home:
2001 ALCS game 1: 2 runs
2001 ALCS game 2: 2 runs
2022 Divisional Game 3: 0 runs
2025 Division Game 1: 2 runs
Julio isn't a smart playerAgreed. That double play was on Julio. All he had to do was stop. The announcers said just lay down, make Baez make a decision to prevent the double play. It’s the little things that kill this team. That’s why I never bought the hype this is a WS team. Can’t live or die by the long ball when you face good offenses, it’s not sustainable. Especially when people can’t get on base at all. We are lacking about 3 higher on base guys. I’d take that over power any day.
If it were my Wife, and I would tell her she has her Mom and Dad, but NOT ME today. Now I’m reading possibly no Naylor today because his wife is due to have a baby. Im officially worried and nervous.
Mental note for coach Dan and pitcher Kirby if he pitches again in the Tigers series:
