Bourne had a great night to be sure and congrats to him. But honestly......Who the F##k is that guy?

He looked like Jason Bourne out there - not some third string receiver I had never heard of till last night.

And nice work Ram's DB's - good lord that was sad. He was clearly the primary target and you couldn't cover him - at all.

He was a Niners udfa pick in 2017. They kept him until 2021 at which point pats picked him up. He has chemistry with Mac way more than Brock, which was a reason they won.

Yeah they dominated TOP 40 minutes to 26, playing keep away from Stafford and company - limiting his opportunities to score. Rams D couldn't cover Bourne and barely pressured a hobbled QB. I thought their defense was supposed to be elite but it wasn't impressive on Thursday.
Yeah thought Bourne got cut by New England. Haven’t heard his name since Jimmy G was there QB lol

He did the same thing to us. He’s a very creative play caller and designer. McCaffrey had a nice game but Mac Jones quite frankly is a better passer than Purdy and I don’t understand why they signed Purdy to what is it $55 mil per? That’s gonna eat into their cap for years lol

A competent QB can run that show. Purdy/Jones are just that - competent.

Purdy humpers can call him ELITE all they like - it simply isn't true.

They will go back to Purdy - they have to. They have too many $ invested to let Jones play.
A lot of their fans are already moving on to Jones can’t exactly blame them. He’s a good quarterback and throws much better than Purdy between coverage and actually providing receivers the ability to catch on the run instead of breaking stride. He sells the script better like the reverse flea flicker which turned out to be an 8 yard screen pass to McCaffrey after the dust settled. Play designs like that can chew up clock real fast

I feel great for Mac Jones. That guy is a good dude , tough as hell and deserves all the credit in that game . Gutsy win
Watching him in Jax last year and again this year I'm inclined to say he should be starting somewhere, immediately. New Orleans? Tennessee? Giants? Minnesota? Carolina? Hell even Arizona or Atlanta. He'd be an immediate upgrade for any of those teams.

And he costs 7 million a year.

Since by all 49er accounts Purdy is "ELITE" - they should be able to get a HUGE return in trading him. Right? Right?

What cap? It's the whiners, they have no cap.

So they’re paying $62 mil a year at the quarterback position? Yikes. Imagine paying your backup moving forward $55 mil per. Not sure what his contract states but it’s among the highest paid at the position and a pedestrian arm 200

Shan’s floor is competence. Brandon Allen or Josh Dobbs wouldn’t have pulled it off. Mac is more toward the ceiling as was Purdy, JimmyG and Mullens.

One thing I remember about Mac Jones is that when he was a rookie with the Patriots how he had to teach the veteran Cam Newton the playbook. Not that it makes him an Einstein, but he must have something going for him upstairs.

These guys are the poster children for competent to marginally above mediocre - nothing more.

Mac Jones
Brock Purdy

These guys? Less than that.

Jimmy "bang a stripper" G
Nick Mullens

I think that speaks more to Cam Newton :)

Is this a trick question? The answer is hell no not with his current contract he has negative trade value. A GM would have to be insane to absorb that contract nobody would do it but I’m guessing you were being facetious lol funny

There's probably a few teams that would make a serious run at Purdy if he became available. Pittsburgh would maybe be the favorite there, but I'm guessing Mac Jones ends up starting someplace else if he keeps this up.

Not for $53 million, they wont.
