One of the draft picks I was most excited about (and still am), he started the year on the NFI list as he recovers from an ACL tear last December. This meant automatically missing the first 4 games.

I wondered if anyone has heard any news on what the timeline for return to the roster looks like for Rylie? All the interviews pre training camp seemed to be very positive that he was ahead of schedule so there seemed hope he may see the field this year in a limited / rotational capacity. But I’ve not been able to find any updates since then so not sure if they just plan to let him sit all year to recover and attack it next year.

Mills is the sleeper of a great draft class who could cause a great awakening for our team. His attitude is such that he could create shock waves for our opponents already leery of dealing with the likes of Ammanwori, Spoon, the rest of our DB room, and an elite D Line to join. Our riches are piling up.
How's that for a freebie commercial?

Thanks for this, I don’t have X but found the post; basically MM gave no new timeline on Rylie but thinks he will be available later on in the season.

I also think he is the real sleeper of the draft. Was a real talent at Notre Dame last year.

Totally forgot about this kid, adding him to the line rotation will be a huge plus
How dare you!!! Rylie will make sure you never forget again!!!

:sarcasm off:

This draft class is the gift that keeps on givin’ and Mills is like the present that got lost behind the couch (or chair the cat got electrocuted under)!

One of the reporters asked coach about him last week and the response was that they thought he'd play this year, but it didn't sound super convincing.

Suspect he’ll stay on NFI for the balance of the season giving him a redshirt year. This really has been the expectation since he was drafted.

Thankfully the team has solid depth at DE/DT to allow that to happen. I’d expect his contract will toll if he doesn’t play this season. This was and hopefully will be a sneaky good draft pick.

That's always been my thought as well from the moment we drafted him and being aware of his injuries. I didn't think we'd see him at all, unless we worked him in a bit later in the season to get his feet wet. Yeah, redshirt year is a good way of putting it.
