I'm confident this will get fine tuned and we'll win 10 plus games in 2025. Having said that, yesterday's offensive gameplan didn't resemble what Macdonald and Schneider have been preaching or what we saw in the preseason. That's partially why im optimistic, just get back to what worked against the chiefs and this takes a big step in the right direction. But I'm just mystified at what Kubiak was thinking, this play calling could have been what Grubb ran last year. That hook and ladder play was the ugliest part of the day. Just hoping he overthought things and tried to get too cute. Baffling.

So frustrating. Where were the tight ends, FB, misdirections? And why the hell is he trying to FORCE Walker when Charbs is getting the job done? Very disappointing. That looked like the Temu version of a Shanahan offense.

Charbs had 1 carry in the second half, they took maybe 1(?) shot down field to JSN and it was on the last drive of the game, and sprinkled in a horrible cute trick play every drive it seemed. Pretty much all the creativity in the run game fizzled out by the third quarter. All that LOS screen garbage needs to go. Almost no play action boots which Darnold is EXCELLENT running. Really disappointing first week for him.

It was like a 14 year old kid who drank too much cold medicine was calling the game. I mean I'm no offensive mastermind but just some of the formations and developing plays were like WTF? And the 4th & 1 FG?, that was so defeating, please don't let that ever happen again.

I guess with the improved OL, Ouzts, Charbs and the promise of KK running downhill I expected something different.
For me it was a give the ball to Marshawn moment.
I'll bet those 9ers had a nice plane flight home.

They could not run it and they did not have the confidence to let Darnold get in the rhythm for the passing game. Pointless sweeps and childish trick plays were what they had. Much worse than what I expected. If this cant be fixed, fire everyone.

Absolutely the most frustrating part of all this. I'm so sick of the tired adage "don't play your starters in preseason and leave something on film". They should have left this crap on preseason film so that they were ready to play NFL offense in week #1.

Kubiak was a desperation hire, simply because he was the “best available” option this offseason. Macdonald and co spent a ton of time trying to vet the available candidates, and Kubiak was available for a reason. His offense is very basic, predictable, not creative and flat out flawed.

I respectfully and wholeheartedly disagree with the ten win assessment as well. This roster is simply nowhere close to being competitive. Combine a still below average offensive line with an extremely predictable offense, we’re going to be seeing a lot more of what we saw yesterday.

Buckle up, folks. This is going to be a longer season than many of you imagined. This roster is destined for the basement.

You maybe go for trick plays once you have exhausted your bread-and-butter plays. Did they really have to reach deep into their playbook for this?

This reminds me of when Waldron had DJ Dallas try to pass for a TD.

Really left a lot of plays out there that could have been had.

I thought this game would have been ours if Kubiak had been more aggressive earlier.

The no deep threat is gone without DK and Kubiak has got to get Horton in to play that role. Seattle had this game but Kubiak is still trying to figure out how to best use the personnel but one thing is clear, Kubiak needs to include a deep threat to be more aggressive.

I don't know what it is where play callers who are pretty highly regarded when they are hired here just turn into COMPLETE AND UTTER MORONS. I'm so sick of it. Didn’t this guy set a scoring record last year in New Orleans for the first couple games before all his offensive personnel started dropping like flies? So what the hell is it? Maybe our player personnel?

I knew it was gonna be a rough day when we rolled out the cuteness for Milroe (terrible preseason) early and killed our first drive.
Bingo.

Not to sound like more of a tool than I am, but that was my main concern a couple weeks ago regarding keeping Milroe. Bringing him in for these cute little packages is a major mistake. It ruins any flow we have going, and Darnold needs all the reps he can get to adjust to this new team.

That hook and ladder was absolutely embarrassing

Did we give up any sacks? We could ran instead of any of those backwards screens… I don’t think it’s that bad
