The Vikings didn't re-sign Darnold for what we saw today. He's a journeyman first round bust like Trubisky. He hasn't been good anywhere he has been. Time to draft someone in Rd 1!

Wouldn’t have mattered. Cooper Kupp is not a number two in the league right now. They are woefully thin at wide receiver.

Kupp was a bad signing but he's a hometown guy so everyone here got oogly over it. Fact is he's washed. Horton needs to be the 2 now. Why hold rookies back? Arroyo sat on the bench all game too. Why?

I didn't think he looked bad at all. I did have a problem with the play calling. When we actually threw the ball downfield Sam had some really nice throws.
Cooper Kupp is not even an NFL wide receiver right now. Bringing him because he's a hometown kid was a stupid idea. He's just collecting paychecks and laughing all the way to the bank. I don't think he gives a crap about football anymore.

Dude didn't miss in preseason, so there wasn't anything for him to improve. Now that there is some tape on him in a Seahawks uniform and in this system, next week is 1000 times more important than this week. Let's wait and see what the adjustments look like

Until that pass to JSN on that last fruitless drive, Darnold had just over a 100 yards passing. That's not going to get it done. It's not all on Sam, but that's just not going to get it done.

You and I seem to be two of the more level-headed people around here.
Sam could've been better but if the OC bothered to let Sam let it fly (intermediate to deep passes) instead of attaching training wheels to him all game long (throws behind the line of scrimmage), maybe the result would've been far different.
Also, it's interesting how the people here are on Darnold's case after watching Kenneth Walker with his "amazing" 10 carries for 20 yards.
Just 6 yards more than Sam Darnold who had 2 carries for 14. (He's the REAL Joke here)

But you've got to admit that it's not a good start considering we're traveling to Pitt next weekend in a game we're clearly going to be the underdogs in.

I am not down on Sam at all. I think the game plan from an offense stand point was found somewhere in the bottom of Grubbs office desk. Left by a disgruntled Grubb to sabotage our next OC. Luckily for San Fran KubiYUK fell for it.
If KubiYUK actually puts together a game plan that works to Sam's strengths and the rest of the offense strengths we can actually put up points.

There just wasn't a lot of movement, misdirection, innovation to our offense.
