I saw a pre season highlight of DK elevating and catching a pass with his hands - Pittsburgh fan thinks that is what they are getting.

Unless he has a switch to flip that we never (or at least rarely) saw - they just saw what he could be - not what he is nor what he will be.

Just think : Gave up all that money (and Cap space) PLUS 2 1st rounders for one very talented guy.

Meanwhile we gave up no money (or cap space) plus no draft picks....and still wound up with Chris Paul Jr. and Kendrick (Plus we got to draft Rylie Mills, too).

It’s certainly a conundrum huh.

Parsons is certainly a talent that can single handily change a game, what we did is take in prospects that may or may not be difference makers.

Personally I think we’re a season away from making a move like GB did.

I’d love to have Parsons or the equivalent, I just don’t believe it would have been wise to make the deal GB did (at this moment in time)

I've had time to sleep on this. I was happy we didn't make that trade. I'm extremely happy now.

I think Dallas got the better end of the deal providing they use those 2 draft picks well. They weren't winning any time soon. Can use extra picks to build their roster faster (Much like the Seahawks did after RW.) Parsons is the best defender in the game but he's not winning you a Super Bowl. Paying him $47 million/year will shorten their window, not extend it. I see them as playoff team but not a SB team. I think GB will love having Parsons but ultimately they fall short of the SB still and that's what it's all about. It's going to be hard for them to build a team and keep guys around now, kind of like where the 49ers are at. GB is better today than yesterday and Dallas is worse today than yesterday but neither is winning a SB anytime soon.

Loss for GB. With the NFL pendulum swinging back to a pound the rock attack, Green Bay’s defense is built for yesterday’s offenses. They will be hamstrung for the length of the contract.

My thoughts….

1. Micah Parsons is a first ballot HOF’er entering his prime and probably the best defensive player in the entire NFL.
He just turned 26 years old.

2. Kenny Clark had a bit of an off year last year and turns 30 in a month, which is usually when DT’s start to slide.

3. As long as Love doesn’t get hurt, GB will almost assuredly be picking higher than 20. I can’t see how you can parlay those into anything comparable to Parsons.

4. Salary cap keeps rising. Players rework deals to become more cap friendly. You have to pay to play. Every deal seems insane until the next one.

5. Jones was pressured to do the trade now thus sacrificing the leverage he would have had by shopping Parsons in March when the fallout occurred.

6. Dallas just traded the best non QB in the NFL to a team that beat the shit out of them at home in the playoffs just two years ago.

Unless Dallas just gets lucky with those pics or could use them to get someone like Arch, I thinking it’s a massive fail for Dallas.

I also think the vast majority of us would be shitting twinkies had we landed him. I would. We gave up as much for a safety that could not cover.

but he just doesn't and when he does it's rare and for $33 million per,
I expect a WR to have no issues with it.

Exactly this - when he does it - it is a thing of beauty - he just doesn't very often - maybe like twice a year - at best. That was always the frustration with him for me. You could see what he COULD be. And what he was/is still pretty damn good.

Jerry Jones is the new Al Davis. Lots of success early on, but has no clue how to run an NFL team in his latter years. You do not let elite QBs, pass rushers, or left tackles walk. Period. And Brian Schottenheimer as your head coach? Yeah, that'll go well. I'm not sure he even gets an OC job elsewhere. Jerry's a great businessman though, I'll give him that. Keeping a team that hasn't done anything in 30 years in the national spotlight is pretty impressive.

I completely agree with what was said. This take on parsons is pretty spot on. Gb will love him but they won't win it all with him either. I don't like Jerry Jones, he could have done better in when to trade him and letting this turn into a fiasco but I think in the long run they get the better end of the deal.
