It's no secret that the PNW has some really special and historic town names whose pronunciation is so unique that it can even trip up lifelong residents.

I would have gotten Puyallup wrong if I had tried to say it out loud before hearing my friend who lives there pronounce it. I would have gone with "poo-yallup," like some of these guys did, and not the correct pronunciation, "pyoo-allup."
