Warner not Lynch?

Not a criticism, I’m interested in your thoughts.

Care to extrapolate?
Warner represented the changing of fortune. He was our 1st stud RB, and his skill was undeniable right from the get-go. 1983 was our 1st season of relevance, and Curt's arrival was a big part of that. The next season he got injured and his forte, that incredible cut back, was never quite the same. But that rookie season was amazing. I watched him at Penn St, so I knew what we were getting.
I also loved Lynch, Alexander, Warren, and Watters. But Warner was the 1st real offensive star not named Steve . If he never lost his knee, Knox would've rode him to the HOF , imo. It was the perfect fit .

Because I’m an idiot. See what I mean?! Sooo many great players I love.
You could have a "top 6".
You're Aros dammit.

Hasselbeck
Dave Brown
B Browner ( pre attempted murder)
C Brown
D Baldwin

I know the obvious choices , but these are my personal favorite guys.

It’s favorite…..not best right?

I left a number of legends off who were objectively better than some of my five.

There are a million reason why a player might be your favorite-

Personality
University
Era
Union loyalty
Hometown
Charity Work
Heritage
Position

Etc..

Heck, even someone’s ability to overcome adversity. If I were legally deaf, I bet Derick Coleman would be on my list because of his inspirational factor. Same with Shaquem for those who are missing limbs.

My list is not set in stone, it what i was feeling when I made it, there are so many players that could be interchanged on it, and favorite may not have been the best we have had play here, a player that excited me, personality, or someone you could not take your eyes off of many times.

This. It wasn't best. It was favorite - that was the whole point :)

Fair enough, thanks.

Aaahhhh....Mo Morris. I think of all the "non-starters" we've had over the years, I betcha Morris had the biggest fan base

Cannot do this without some 'other' qualifier, so I'll give my Five Favorite who were not recognized as elite players:

Mack Strong. The soul of the franchise during turbulent years, stood on the sidelines waiting for a contract when other teams were calling. 100% pure Seahawk.

Manu Tuiasosopo. Came to my elementary school (with I think Steve Raible...) to do the typical motivation/meet and greet community service. Largest human I had ever met. That day I started watching football because I wanted to find Manu on the field - of course watching him meant seeing Jacob Green on the nose with him....started my love of the defensive game that stands to this day. Manu was my Seahawk (and NFL) on-ramp.

Dan Doornink. A nobody doing everything. Quentisential Seahawk.

Rufus Porter. Wherever Rufus was, the play was. The only plays he got a break is when Cortez Kennedy already destroyed the play in front of him.

Doug Baldwin. An artist getting it done every time. Always ready for his QB, never out of any play. The best pedestrian ever.

Too many more to list for different reasons - but these guys always made me watch

I know that’s a mix of ‘favorite’ and talent but, I love all those guys.

Man…a top 10 would’ve been easier 😂

Largent will always be my favorite. I still have both of the Blue Angel posters and a complete set of the Largent trading cards they made his last year.

Marshawn comes close. I've never seen a RB that just refused to go down like he did. So many memories of him carrying a pile, or seeing the pile stop and the announcers would say he's been stopped...and then he pops out of the pile.

After that...
ADB - I'm convinced that after Lynch left, Doug was what allowed Russ to be Russ, catching balls he had no business catching and making his QB look good.
John L Williams - dude could turn a 2 yard screen into a 70 yard TD. He did it repeatedly.
and someone from the LOB. Can't decide who, but the best NFL defense of all time can't go unrepresented.

a number of people have mentioned Mack Strong. He doesn't quite make my list of favorite Hawks.....but he has BY FAR the best name for a football player.

1. Steve Largent. First HOF of any sport that I watched play every professional game in his career.
2. Walter Jones. One of 2 HOF'ers I've shook hands with the other being Bob Feller.
3. Pre-Ciera Russell Wilson
4. Cortez Kennedy
5. "Benchwarmer Bob" Lurtsema.

A guy I loved but wasn't a great player, or a seahawk very long was Breno Giacomini. That guy brought a nastiness and attitude to the oline that is sorely missed.

My top 5 would look like a lot of other's that have posted, so I'll leave it at that:)

I am going to assume favorite, not best and go with memorable personalities/moments.

Marshawn Lynch: the skittles stuff, and of course He is just here so he doesn't get fined.
Michael Bennet: the belly dancing and now they have got a bicycle.
Hass: always an interesting convo and we want the ball and we're going to score.
Sherm: Love or hate what he says but always noticable. I bet they not going to try him with a sorry receiver like Crabtree.
Steve Raible: Holy Catfish, I can not believe you all forgot him. Best for his game calls.

honorable mention
Largent: revenge is best served up cold.

Now that you mentioned Steve Raible to which I agree with your comments about, one has to mention his mentor, Pete Gross.

While watching Seahawk games, I used to turn down the volume on the TV and turn on the local radio broadcast, something that's impossible nowadays as the two won't come anywhere close to syncing up. The radio call was always just a little bit ahead of the TV signal, but not to the point where it was unwatchable.

In any event, Gross's calls were fantastic. He was very precise in his descriptions of the live action and when he got excited, he would shout out in his high-pitched voice "Touchdown, Seahawks!" It was a good way for a novice to learn about the game as you could see what was happening as Gross was calling out "Two backs set behind Krieg. Largent in motion left to right across the formation, long count, Krieg may be changing the play."

Instead of butchering names like the network announcers, like Manu Tuiasosopo, he pronounced them flawlessly. Back then, the radio announcers traveled with the team, came to know the players personally vs. the TV guys who rotated in and out with scores of teams.

I'm not taking anything away from Steve Raible, but he learned the ropes from Pete Gross, my ATF radio/TV announcer.
