A new year. New season.

Regardless of what click bait whores think or say. Vegas Shmagus...

YOU know better.

This is a team primed to not disappoint this season. Absolutely there are question marks. Offense mainly. Still, you know our coach is no joke and has our defense primed to be in the Top 5 this year, which by itself, might win us an extra game or two. I don't see Sam Darnold suddenly reverting to his Jets Era. The interior OL may still be a rotational issue all year but the Left Guard situation should be money. Which means the entire left side of the line should be money.

Center and Right Guard remain a work in progress but hopefully the new coaches and scheme will mitigate any shortcomings. Baring any major injuries and strength of schedule, there's absolutely no reason we can't improve on Mike's 10 win inaugural season.

I have them - again, assuming injuries don't play a major role - going 11 wins AT WORST.

Let that sink in.

I see the Rams still being a thorn in our side. Cardinals? Meh. Even when they are good and scrappy, we still seem to have their number for the most part. 9ers will be my wild card. They lost a lot of good talent and they are recovering from an injury-laden year. If they can bounce back, they might be in the mix as well divisionally-speaking. But they had to pay Purdy which we all know how that goes in terms of salary cap and the ability to pay and bring in other top talents.

There's something fun brewing up here in the Pacific Northwest. Lots of young talent. A more than capable coaching staff. A defensive system that continues to lead the forefront in innovation. Many of these defensive players are now in the "We get it coach, now we can react" frame of mind which is music to all of our ears. Ask the Ravens defense how they felt about the scheme in the second year under Magic Mike's tutelage.

12-5. That's my intuitive pick.

Let's roll!

More specifically, I think the running game is the real wild card. If we have a solid run offense (as in even a little above average) then Darnold and the passing game will be fine. There's a lot riding on that o-line.

I'm thinking 11-6, dueling the Rams for the division title again. but you can't rule the Whiners out. Yes, they signed Purdy, but the big dollars don't really kick in until next year. his cap hit for 2025 is 'only' $9 million.

I see the Rams still being a thorn in our side.

At least we don’t have to worry about being completely out coached and out strategized against the Rams anymore.

If they make the plays we don’t and/or if the ball bounces the wrong way a few times and we get beat, then that’s sports and that’s why we watch.

But I’m confident the days of being humiliated on the sidelines against the Rams are over.

Well everyone knows the Rams are a lock for the division. As is Philly in the East. Three of these four, Commanders, Packers, Lions, and Vikings are playoff locks. The winner of the NFC South is, of course, in. That leaves us and a couple of other teams fighting for playoff scraps. We might as well just fast forward the season to the final game against the 49ers for all the marbles of the 7th and final playoff spot. I mean, why bother to even play the games? It's foreordained.

I just listened to a Mina Kimes (Seahawk fan) pod with Chris Long ranking NFL teams going into the season. They ended up with us at #18. Chris Long had praise for MM and our D, and said that we might surprise.

I'd agree with big chunks of that.

I know there's lots of people chicken littling about Darnold, but we have Lock and he's looked pretty good in pre season from what I've read, and Milroe is a wildcard.

Defense is sorted. Not to ignore it. Not to take it for granted either.

Been a while since we ran a non-stupid offense. I'm really looking forward to what KK is bringing the table, and hope that he's got some of that first stretch Saints magic to inflict on us! Also, that injuries don't sidetrack that. And the run game. I wanna see what 'self proclaimed beast mode 2.0' has in the tank :ROFLMAO:

Definitely looking to see what pressure a balanced O attack takes off everyone involved.

LFG. Personally I've got the most hope I've had in A WHILE. I'm just happy to see the O without completely stupid OC's.

This except 12 wins for the 12s magic

What's exciting to me is Mike Macdonald and John Schneider are building the type of team that is just starting to trend in the NFL. If we can paddle out in front of that wave and take advantage of the recipe before everyone else catches on, watch out.

Every season for the past 3-4 years there has been this “expert” negativity around the team and each season the team does better than those “experts” predicted. Last year the team tied for the division crown but lost the tie-breaker when they were supposed to tank. They were better than predicted the season before and the season before that.

The NFC-W will be a highly competitive division with little difference between all the teams. Looking at the Hawks they are at least looking improved, save at WR, but even then there have been many who have been selling them low along with calling down our WRs especially Kupp. Vegas says Seattle has 8.5 Wins and will be last in the Div.. I’m not feeling it, and suspect the hype train is overheated about LA and SF and dreaming nonsense about AZ and their continuing disfunction. The division title will be everything and divisional Ws will be the determining metric. Running the ball and stuffing the run will be key. The Hawks are if nothing thought to be likely to field a very strong D this season. Reports from the team indicate a focus on a highly improved running attack. I like what seems to be getting put together.

For me I suspect 4 divisional Ws will have the Hawks winning the NFC-W. If so looking at the schedule with optimism I see 12-5 as a slight possibility but realistically 11-6 as being more likely. The team this year will be a good deal better than the “experts” predict.

Pound the rock, and slobberknock!

GO HAWKS!!!

Only experts that truly know the Hawks are on dot net. Here, we are predicting a 13 win season.
