I am disappointed by this article named "Sam Darnold in danger of being exposed by harsh Seahawks reality - Sam Darnold may not have a fun time standing in the pocket." on fansided.

The writer of the article was Scott Rogust. His resume said he has eight years of experience within sports media, and before joining FanSided, Scott wrote for 12UP and Double G Sports. He graduated from Rutgers University-Newark with a major in journalism and minor in biology. Scott has a vast knowledge of professional wrestling trivia and will understand any reference from "The Simpsons."

Scott based his argument on a PFF ranking of our OL, the writer of PFF's OL ranking was by Zoltan Buday, a native Hungarian who lives in Hungary (His LinkedIn below).

In short, both writers, Rogust and Buday had no football experience as players, coaches or scouts. These are dudes just like some folks on dot net, and yet, they are opining on areas that they have no qualifications for.

Couple of things.

1. Toffee, I respect you, but here I go.
2. I have little to no faith in Sam Darnold
3. Don’t take these articles seriously. It’s the offseason. Anything and everything can be said, opinions can be published. It matters none.
4. When I posted the LinkedIn profile of the Seahawks equipment manager who routinely brought the wrong cleats to grass playing surfaces while Carroll was here, I was called a creep, a loser, among other things, when really I just wanted people to understand who was behind the chaos of our players wearing the wrong cleats.
5. I am a creep and a loser
6. Our O line deserves all criticism until they can prove competence.

You guys seriously don't understand Toffe is trolling this board with these threads?
He doesn't like the moves made by JS he doesn't like that Geno and Pete are gone and these threads are all dripping with deep sarcasm.
Toffee does not think anything is fixed he wants JS gone that's why he brings these topics up and then very sarcastically proclaims all things are fixed and talks about JS line etc.
He makes these disingenuous threads over and over and over.

Much appreciated, but you do know that I have never played ball, and have limited football knowledge? I see films with a pair of untrained eyes.
2. I have little to no faith in Sam Darnold
Darnold had a lot of ups and downs, but he did have a very good year in 2024.

You are right, but I was surprised by the background of these writers. We have folks on .NET who played, coached, and studied the games.

I always check on the source of information, I think we share the same approach.
5. I am a creep and a loser
you and me both :)
6. Our O line deserves all criticism until they can prove competence.
This off-season, we took a rather unusual path to solve our OL, ie, we gutted the skilled position instead of the more common adding better linemen.

You should name these unwashed, heathen, unbelievers so that we the humble, (yet better educated and of superior intellect), righteous true-believers, may cast our verbal stones upon them.

(hides).

Seriously though, outsiders have opinions. There are multiple questions about the 2025 Seahawks offense. Doubters can't be proven wrong until the Seahawks show multiple strong regular season performances.

This. They've been bad for a long time, and one of the worst in the league for 3 straight years. They were nearly as bad as last season for both of the 2 years prior to Grubb. Simply changing OC's (for the 3rd time in 3 years) might help some, but probably isn't likely to be some magical cure all that transforms one of the worst OL's in the league into a good one.

Sammy had 1 great year with an excellent offence. I have zero expectations of greatness from him so whatever positive he brings, it's an extra bonus.

All in all the jury is out on the how the Oline will play this year though. To me some patience will be needed and it is somewhat unclear that they will be a LOT better immediately though that could just be caution speaking.

I suspect that Darnold will be a good bit better than some are predicting and it is clear he is more mobile than Geno was.

This is a developing picture still.

I fear JS did (as usual) the MINIMUM to address the OL. Hope i’m wrong.
