You know the difference between you Mariner optimists and I?

Again, nothing wrong with being optimistic, just like there's nothing wrong with being a doom and gloomer.
Meh, they suck. I expect this every year, not shocked at all, not even sort of. Already on to football. If anything, it just makes it easier to shift to football and to enjoy the summer. They're barely worth a look at this point. But we get it, you're better and smarter than everyone else.

I'm not a doom and gloomer.

I'm a realist.

My attitude can best be summed like this. I've been burned by this team too many times to count. I am neither an optimist nor a doom and gloomer. I am trying my best to simply be as emotionally detached as possible.

I expect this team to be bad unless they prove me wrong for an entire season. Because that's what they deserve. When they eventually prove me wrong that's great, and I'll be happy when they do. Until then it's whatever.

I don't know you or you me, but I am always fascinated by people and how they become what they say they are. A team that has made 1 playoff, and that was after the league extended the number of teams making it, in 24 seasons say they are a realist? Not knocking or questioning you. Rather trying to see what makes them a real playoff team in your mind with so much saying they aren't? After 47-48-49 or wherever we are at now seasons, I would love to be a believer. Serioulsy.

As a non baseball fan and only a bandwagon M's fan (once they make it to the playoffs which as we all know isn't all that often), all I can say in complete honesty and no jest that they seem like a team that gets their fans hyped earlier in the season, sometimes to the point they think "This could be our year!" only to almost always, inevitably, tank down the final stretch either coming close but just missing the post season or not even close at all.

To an outsider looking in, is that about right?

So far it has been worth about $80M a year in profit. Nice plan for them.

Ya'll have my respect and sympathies. As Seahawks fans - at least those of us older ones - we have seen a lot of bad seasons so I know the feeling.

We had Hawks season tickets from 78-88. Not a lot of winning in those years, but it was still exciting to watch. I can't say the same for the M's games. My 87-year-old mom watches the M's games with me and the other day she had enough and yelled at the TV, "Practice! Practice! Practice! They need practice!".

I don't even follow the team anymore. I've watched about an hour total of them this season and only because they were on the TV where I was. I'm not buying anything of theirs, including ROOT, merchandise or going to the games. I basically only post about this team to shit on them.

They are a loser franchise, and I actually enjoy when they lose. This is the best part of the season for me. Nothing will change until it gets so bad that nobody cares and nobody goes to the games. So for that to happen, I hope they lose as much as they can. Call me a hater, I don't care, I'd rather be that then someone that supports bad business.

Go Guardians this weekend.

I wanted to go to some games this year but yeah I can't with this offense. 2022-24 they wasted 3 straight years of world series tier pitching. They wasted great pitching in 2014 too but 3 years in a row only the mariners could pull that off.
