Some of the responses to us picking up a backup qb are hilarious. He's a good locker room guy and won us some games when he had to come in. This signaling anything beyond that? Okay swami.

The QB on our PS is a goner, for sure.

The other three, Lock, Howell, Darnold will battle it out for the starting; one of the three will go to the PS. My heart goes with Lock, after all our in-house QB guru, Mr. John Schneider, traded for him not once but twice. Although My left brain goes with Darnold, he was drafted higher and just had a good season. My right brain firmly voting for Howell, dude has what it takes to go all the way. The heart and, left/right brain battling it out.

Aren't we the envy of teams? They would be lucky to have one franchise QB, we have THREE!

Bruh, whatchoo smokin'? Darnold is our starting QB. This isn't a competition. The only way Howell or Lock see any starting reps is if Darnold gets injured.

That’s what Flynn thought too.

I do agree that Darnold is our starter barring injury but stranger things have happened.

So a quarterback who sucks is now backing up a quarterback who also sucks? Got it!

My thoughts exactly. We traded for Howell and I assume they did so hoping he might be able to progress into a starter for us. Instead we saw what he had for a year and paid Darnold instead. Ask me last week and I would have been surprised to see Howell go anywhere. Now I’d be surprised if he isn’t gone before the end of the draft.
If we don't pick up a QB in the draft, I think it's more likely this goes down to final cut downs. We'd be lucky to get a sixth rounder for Howell at this point. Schneider doesn't like having more than two rostered QBs, but we've had backup competitions before.

It doesn’t mean anything regarding the draft…they always liked Lock and just weren’t going to match the ridiculous deal the Giants signed him for on a 1 year contract last year. Still might draft a QB…this is an inexpensive smoke screen at worst

Glad to see Drew Lock back in Seattle. He can win a game or two in spot duty when the #1 QB is injured. Already knows most of the team, and a good locker-room guy. I remember how Geno cheered him on in that Eagles game that Lock and JSN won with a late TD pass. Lock is probably a decent fit with the new OC if he needs to fill in for a couple games.

I can't see Howell staying on the team, I expect someone will give up a 6th rounder for him, or at least a 7th.

What about Rhys Plumley, why is he listed as WR, in college he throw threw the ball 760 times and caught it 26. We really have 5 QBs on the roster at the moment.

My view is Darnold is tabled to start, Lock as back-up and Hall and Rhys Plummner likely to get inthe practise quad at best. I can't see us taking a QB early and any late pick would then join the competion. For that to happen though I think thy would need to be BPA by quite a margin.

Can Lock play TE? I wonder if Kubiak plans to use Lock in a Taysom Hill type roll.

I wouldn’t expect more than a 6th and more than likely a future pick instead of this year. I don’t see either Howell or Lock on the PS nor do I think we carry 3 on the roster but with a new coordinator maybe it’s something he’d implement.

I see the signing at worst is a camp arm and probably the front runner as back up. As far as Sam Howell goes never underestimate the desperation of a team that really needs a QB

Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury in New Orleans. Maybe we can ship him there for a fifth or six rounder.
There is zero shot we get a fifth rounder for him. Maybe a sixth but that’s a stretch too.
