You’re seriously using total yards as a key stat for QB success? Did you know these two stats you list are two of the lowest correlated for success for a QB? How many yards did Sam Howell throw for in Washington? Any guesses? Right at 4,000 yards so yeah you got me there I guess.
TD/INT ratio is a prohibitively noisy statistic to use as an indicator of QB caliber and you do it routinely anyway, so I don't really see how you can ignore the others (the ones that happen to hurt your arguments, coincidentally.)

You then dismiss essentially everything else, especially advanced stats relating to accuracy, as being silly stats that only Twitter wonks care about, which is similarly obtuse.

I don't even see how this is especially relevant. The fact remains that, yes, if Darnold's rudimentary box score stat production drops, I'm not going to instantly blame him like most everyone did Geno. I'll blame the shit-ass job this FO has done at supporting the QB for years running, because NO ONE is winning a Super Bowl with anything resembling the supporting cast of the last few years.

And I can already hear the pitchforks if Darnold puts up like 22 TDs and 17 INTs about how he's a flash-in-the-pan overpaid goof and how we need to draft some goof named some shit like Hendryx McLaneKiffinQB in the first round next year or else we'll always be in "purgatory."

I'll defend Darnold against that crap just like I did Geno if the film backs it up. We're going nowhere unless we fix the issues surrounding the QB. We can bitch a little bit more about them after that, in my opinion.

Come on guys, give our Schneider Line a chance already, ok, another chance. John put his heart and soul into designing this line, invested draft capital too.

One more year, ok?

Right now on paper most NFC teams have better OLs and better receiving weapons than the Seahawks. I hope JS has a plan because right now he is asking Kubiak to pull off a miracle. It was bad enough that Kubiak walked into the mess with the Saints cap situation and then all those injuries as the 2024 season went on. But this might be worse than what Kubiak started with last year with the Saints. Before the injuries on paper Kubiak had with the 2024 Saints Kamara/Miller, Olave, Shaheed, Moreau and Johnson to work with. Right now? Walker/Charbs, JSN, Bobo, Faint and Barner.

Trouble is brewing in the sleepless city if Kubiak is not given reinforcements.

Again, 3 years, 50 mil is a hell of an offer. At least we are seeing him TRY. Sometimes you wonder if he was going to. Just sayin.

Rumors going around that this might be more of a Jody thing than a Schneider one. Apparently, she won't sign off on deals longer than three years. Fries got five years.
How does this make sense if you have to sell the team and you want to sell it for as much as you can? Having the team suck doesn't help it's value.

Plenty of guys can still play well at 35. Worth a tire kick on Zeitler. It'll be considered settling for leftovers. But who cares? Can't hurt to have an experienced Guard on this line.

I believe he wasn't willing to move to the west coast last time he was a free agent?

Buyers like buying low. This is an investment to them. She's trying to appeal to them by having less future money on the books.

Darnold had a better season than Geno, so.....
To say that Darnold had one season better than Geno so he's a better QB is the definition of recency bias. Geno's had more good seasons than Darnold has.

I was pushing for Zeitler last year and we went for Tomlinson instead.

I also pushed for Conner Williams well before he was reported to be on our radar, but I'm ok forgetting that part.

If it’s true 50+ over 3 is a great offer, just sucks that the Vikings topped that. I think the Packers signing Banks to 77/4 had agents trying for more instead of accepting offers they would have before that news broke.

There’s still above average starter talent out there at guard. Zeitler is old but played great last year. Becton is another one. I’m just not sure how they match up with the wide zone scheme.

Probably something to do with not wanting to put so much guaranteed money into escrow. See it a lot with cash poor teams - we could be functionally "cash poor" if there are considerations present that prevent us from taking big hits to our liquid cash, even if it isnt necessarily being "poor" like say the Bengals.

A potential buyer will want a flexible team future not one locked into long term contracts so it does make sense.
