I don’t agree but it’s reasonable: it wouldn’t shock me if fields took off and finally got it. He’s flashed before.
"Flashed" is the key word...... at the same age as Darnold and still hasn't put up ANYWHERE CLOSE to those numbers

Again why is everyone sooo against Darnold yet wants fields at the same age.. with lesser stats? I just don't get it. With a decent defense you still net 7 to 8 wins... still a terrible draft spot for a qb next year.... Everyone wanting these first round QBs, that over the years have panned out to nothing is odd.

Because everybody wants a fast, flashy quarterback (you know, "the next Lamar") and thinks (hopes) that the lightbulb is suddenly going to come on for their team.

So a sub par Geno with the same amount of wins

I don't want either of those guys, but if I had to choose between Darnold or Fields right now, I'd take Fields.

Can you elaborate why .. honestly? Serious question from your perspective; is it just a money thing?

Same age.. but Darnold has shown to be an actual QB

Fields has had time to do that... People are grasping thinking he's going to just "click" heh

Lamars "lightbulb" went on in year 2.

I don't think I'm ignoring anything. He said something about strawman arguments from the GeNos, and then you responded with a strawman argument. You kinda proved his point. Or at the very least, provided a good example of exactly what he was talking about. 🤷‍♂️
no you are and that’s fine.Nate even pointed out the issue and you ignored that too. I’m glad Geno is gone because I’m tired of this stuff.

The formula is a cheap QB to have and build a team around him or vice versa, Howell is cheap and young and well bad line and an offense not suited really to his strengths. He could stick and we draft, I don't see Donald in the equation, we may need two years to now build an offense that can threaten a defense again. Will have rookies and players learning a new system taking half the season to gel and do things at full speed rather then thinking about it.

Oof. I'm sorry man, but I've already explained why several times. It's getting late and I've had a few so I'm going to make this short (er).

Darnold sucked for 6 years until he was on a really good offense. We don't have a really good offense. Darnold has been really bad when his OLine has been really bad. Our OLine is really bad.

I totally approve. I’m stoked to get any thing for him. I thought we’d cut him. Build up from the trenches. Maybe we’re ready next year.

Surprise, Sherm doesn't approve. I would link the YouTube video but trust me it's not worth your time.

Sherman's point in that video is so off base. So many great players wind up playing for multiple teams, it is not unique to Seattle.

I mean hell, Doug Baldwin retired a Seahawk...

Not necessarily. Now we'll all be watching him next year too like we do with Russ. And every time he does something good for the Raiders, the Geno fanboys will say SEE! And every time he does something bad for the Raiders, the GeNO's will say SEE! Leather, rinse, repeat.
Leather ? Oh my ..... ok I'm listening .......

Come on man I’m actually talking to one right now and you know that with Montana. At least try to be honest with this stuff. I’d also argue you bordered on calling him elite. Just own it. Keasely and knownone one, have flirted with it as well.

You’re probably right though, the only noble people in this debate are the Geno supporters lol
Yeah for two years now, the same (mostly three) people were instantly on every mildly perceived slight of Geno like it was a Bat Call, armed with their stockpile of cherry-picked stats and blame for everyone else, and now they're claiming they weren't trying to argue that he's an elite QB? Funny stuff.

I have always argued that Geno has the talent to give top 5-10 performances if provided a contender-caliber supporting cast. This is not the same thing as definitively calling a player "elite."

As if there aren't 3 or more on the other side of Geno debate who became largely one-issue posters engaging in mostly bad faith rhetoric.

Well, I liked Geno. He had a good story of redemption after failure. He also has elite arm talent, but often made bad reads or decisions.
I didn't necessarily want him gone, but I also didn't want to get strapped into huge cap numbers for a player who likely will continue to regress.
I think moving on from him is smart, and can't believe they got a 3rd for him. I'm ecstatic.
Now LV will have to pay him. I would not be happy if I were a Raiders fan. Loose a 3rd for the privilege of overpaying an aging qb. Wow
