Conveniently he requests a trade after Lockett is released. IMO he’s being emotional about Tyler being released instead of remembering it’s a business
It's not like DK called a press conference the second after Lockett was officially released. It's just when the press leaked it.

Didn't Aiyuk demand a trade last year? Just looking for examples of this happening and then the guy staying put. Obviously a huge whole to fill on the 2025 roster if this happens or else JSN is going to be drawing all kinds of coverage his way next year

Safe to say JSN wasn't expecting this!

JSN could be playing with an entirely different WR corp, and a new QB. A whole new world, a new Schneider world with John singing:

Welcome to my world
Won't you come on in
Miracles it takes
Still happen now and then

Step into my team
Leave you wins behind
Welcome to my world
Built with you in mind

Knock and the door will open
Seek and you will find
Ask and you'll be given
The contract to this world of mine

I'll be waiting here
With my arms unfurled
Waiting just for you
Welcome to my world

My bet is this almost entirely about money, but we'll see.

Yep. People like to let their imagination run wild and speculate all kinds of reasons why a player wants out in these types of situations. The reality is it's usually about money. It may not be the one and only reason, but it's almost certainly the biggest reason.

Let me put it this way. Anyone think DK would be requesting a trade if the Seahawks were willing to give him the contract he wants? I sure don't.

I look at football as some look at war. Don't make friends cause they could be gone soon. It helps to keep any emotional ties from clouding thinking. SO MANY fan favorites have come and gone. I am good with ANY PLAYER on the team being traded as long as compensation is a plus "team wise".
This doesn't mean I don't cheer for some more than others, or enjoy having some on the team more than others.
I was a Wilson fan for my part.....but because of the compensation we got for him, my foot couldn't kick his ass outta here fast enough.
Team first

Just last week, the Rams gave Matthew Stafford permission to seek a trade and they ended up agreeing to a new contract just days later, despite Stafford being heavily courted by the Raiders with a romantic getaway in the mountains with Tom Brady.

I personally, want DK to stay. I think what he brings as positives are the type of things you can't easily replace. (He's also my son's favorite player).

My personal hope is that this is a move by DK and his agent to try and work some more money out of a deal--and hopefully, they find that not as many teams as they thought are willing to pay DK a league setting contract.

That said, Seahawks had a LOT of money tied up in 2 WRs and if we actually remove both Tyler and DK's contracts... well, that's a lot of money we could be spending on those trenches...

How’s that? If you’re Schneider you can play the “we’re fine keeping him if we can’t agree on an offer” now he can’t really play that card… seems pretty logical we just lost a lot of leverage in negotiations.
If there is enough interest perhaps a bit of a bidding war will keep the value up. If we can't get what we want for him I'd tell him to suit up and shut up. If he wants to tank his value by not playing that's up to him.

I agree. I don’t want to see them trade DK, I think he will net a nice return not a great one. If he was to be traded I would change my stance on what to do with Geno.

I still get the feeling he will be back and this is as leverage to get a better deal from the Hawks. Time will tell.
