I'd like to start highlighting players I find in this draft class that I think have the potential to be mid/late round steals. So, with that said, here's my first one.

Daniel Jackson - WR from Minnesota
6'0 196lbs

2024 stats: 75 rec. 863 yds. 4 TD's 11.5 avg.

Current draft projection: Day 3/UDFA

Antwane "Juice" Wells - WR/Ole Miss
6'0 205lbs

2024 stats: 28 rec. 553 yds. 6 TD's. 19.8 avg.

Draft projection: Day 3

William & Mary OT/OG Charles Grant 6'4" 300 lbs. Grant looks incredibly athletic for an offensive lineman. PFF has his zone blocking rating at 92.7, which is amazing. I'm guessing he will be drafted in either the 2nd or 3rd round.

All these Ole Miss WRs are guys who benefitted from having a QB who excels at the short to midrange passing game.

I don't follow the college game much but I am wondering how you predict a steal.

If you know someone is very likely to have an impact in the NFL then surely the scouts of NFL teams know that and they will be drafted high, with lower picks taken by those expected to have less of an impact or with red flags meaning while there is a chance they could have a significant impact it is also very likely they will bust.

I'll stick to the TE position for this one.

Luke Lachey out of Iowa. Iowa is a TE factory. He will likely fall to day 3 because of injuries. In an extremely good TE class, that injury may push him down the board. But he is the first player that comes to mind as a steal.

What you say is all true and yet there's always mid/late round picks that end up being steals.

Amon-Ra St. Brown
Puca Nacua
George Kittle
Maxx Crosby
Fred Warner
Tyreek Hill

To name a few recent steals. Maybe some had red flags, I don't think all. I know Crosby got bigger / stronger and quit partying, not sure about the rest. Some just fall through the cracks.

Sometimes it's just about going to the right situation. coaching, opportunity, scheme, utilization, etc
